Pilot – End of the Beginning (two-hours)
It’s fashion week in Paris. IMF agent Daniel Briggs is
given his first assignment since having two members of his team, Rollin Hand and Lisa Casey, betray everyone. A foreign embassy is targeted for explosion in 24 hours, but intelligence doesn’t reveal which one. While being trailed through a fashion show by bad guys, Briggs grabs fashion model Cinnamon Carter to help with his escape and recruits her to IMF as his new femme fatale.
Back at the safe house, Cinnamon meets the rest of the IMF team, including a newly activated Barney Collier, strong and silent Willy Armitage, blind Dana and thoughtful Dr. Doug Roberts. Briggs is convinced that Hand is behind the plot, even though no intelligence reveals that. Briggs goes off to recruit The Great Paris, a stage magician who once trained Hand and is now a retired drunk. Barney goes to visit former agent Elena Maria Del Barra, who is now married to a diplomat and has a past with Barney.
Elena’s contacts reveal the targeted embassy is the one for Ilha Grande, a small dictatorship island off the coast of Brazil. Briggs theorizes that the bombing will be an inside job to give Presidente Beyron Rurich an excuse to attack the rest of the world. However, while they descend on the embassy, the French one blows up instead. In the chaos, Willy thinks he sees Barney’s dead son, Grant.
A chase then goes through Paris with the IMF team hot on the heels of Hand and Casey, who basically blew up the embassy to mess with Briggs and his team. They wind up at the Eiffel Tower. Barney passes up a chance to kill Casey to save Cinnamon. Briggs and Hand have a swordfight on the top. Hand is whisked away on a helicopter with Hand promising that what comes next will be worse than Briggs can imagine.
Dead Giveaway
Paris and Cinnamon pose as Hand and Casey to trick a Middle Eastern terrorist organization who wants to hire them after the Paris bombing. Barney and Briggs must work together to delay the real Hand and Casey from showing up before Paris and Cinnamon can locate the group’s leader and each confirm their first kills. Willy teaches them how to kill without feeling. As Willy provides long range support through his rifle scope, he sees the man who looks like Grant again.
Your Own Worst Enemy
Doug is asked to perform an autopsy by IMF headquarters. Barney volunteers to help so he can have it out with Doug about Grant’s death. They are both surprised to find that the dead body looks exactly like Doug and is physically similar in every way. They withhold this information from Dana, who is also present and helping. Meanwhile, Cinnamon can’t bring herself to sleep with a known Hand contact for information. Elena comes in to teach her how to use sex as a weapon. But, when Cinnamon discovers the man is gay, Briggs is brought in instead.
The Russian Doll
Paris performs magic at a child’s birthday party with Cinnamon as his assistant. The grandfather is a former KGB agent selling old missiles to evil scientist Paul Shephard as a means to spread his biological weapons across the world.
Beginning of the End
In this flashback episode, we see how the IMF team composed of Armitage, Briggs, Hand, Casey and Grant let Shepard slip through their fingers and defect to South America.
Kingdom of the Blind
Doug takes Dana to his small, hometown in Iowa for a long weekend. They discover a plot by a white supremacist group to bomb a black church. After Doug is captured by the group, it’s up to the blind Dana to stop the plot and free Doug.
The Fight You Choose
Armitage, Briggs and Cinnamon go undercover to infiltrate an underground Chinese fighting ring, which they believe is funneling money to Hand. They are joined by IMF agent Roger Lee, their liaison for the Pacific theater. They are surprised when Shephard and Rurich show up and must choose between breaking up the fight ring and capture Rurich and Shephard or let it stand to see where the money goes to find Hand and Casey. Armitage sees the man that looks like Grant again.
Beginning of the Beginning
In another flashback episode, we see how Barney left the team as leader, put Briggs in charge and made his son the new expert in electronics and mechanics. This came about because Elena broke off her affair with Barney and left the team. At the end, we see Hand recruiting Casey to join the IMF.
Night of the Puma
Paris and Dana pose as a scientist and his blind wife to meet with Shephard on mainland Brazil. However, their cover is blown and they are taken back to Ilha Grande by Shephard and Rurich’s top bodyguard, a masked figure only known as the Puma.
Day of the Dead
A rescue attempt goes bad with Briggs, Armitage and Roberts getting captured by Rurich and the Puma.
Absence of Twilight
Barney calls in Elena and Cinnamon calls in Roger Lee to mount a new rescue attempt and stop Shephard’s launch of his biological weapons. When all seems lost, a new ally joins the ragtag IMF team, the nameless voice who gives them their assignments (totally Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt).
The Next Chapter
Rurich is sprung from IMF captivity by Shephard and the Puma. At the end, it’s revealed that the evil trio have joined Casey and Hand. They all retreat to hatch a plot more fiendish than the last…for season two.
