Back in 2003, Jim Lee drew the best-selling comic book in years, the "Hush" storyline in Batman. He co-created the supervillain Hush. He is currently working on All Star Batman & Robin.

Don Kramer is the artist who has been working with Paul Dini (the writer who co-created the cartoon Batman with Bruce Timm) on his stories that aren't in the "cartoon" style.

Hush was/is a great character. I finally got around to reading it recently, and Jim's art is cool. I'm not a huge fan, to be honest. But it works here. Plus, I have to give him credit for creating a great character for Bats to compete with.

But that's all Loeb's fault, not Lee's. The art was fine. The cover above with Batman in a sword fight? Fuckin' A.

His "Wolverine in a Batman costume" take on Batman in ASB&R I don't like so well. But then, he doesn't act like Batman, so why should he look like him?

If ASBAR was in continuity, I'd agree it was bad, but since it's not, I just find it a hilarious send up of how Miller's DKR Batman was taken by writers and used as the basis for "Batdick" that was dominating the books for over a decade.
I'm not entirely convinced Hush was meant to be Tommy all along. The way Lee talks about the identity in his foreword to vol. 2 of the paperbacks would fit better with it being Jason. I think DC just got cold feet about it. Hush wasn't helped much more by how in his return, they went with making it seem like he could have been someone else, then just went "nah, it really IS Tommy!".

It seemed a foregone conclusion to me that Jim Lee was going to take this, but Kramer is only one vote behind. I'm leery of closing to soon, if there are still undecideds out there. Anyone considering tying it up for Kramer?
