Salvaged
Creator and Showrunner: Kurt Sutter
Butch (Michael Shannon) and Nicky (Adam Driver) are sibling owners of the Miller Brothers Scrapyard, a front for receiving stolen property and running drugs. Their mentally slow uncle, Dave (Christopher Walken), lives at the scrapyard and serves as a night watchman. He’s oblivious to what they are doing. Dave thinks he’s in a relationship with stripper Krystal (Kristen Ritter), who knows what is going on and is just using Dave so she can skim drugs and property in the middle of the night. Krystal lives with another stripper named Crimzen (Elizabeth Olsen).
Nicky begins questioning what he and his brother are doing and seeks solace at a local church, ran by Pastor Woodmancee (Samuel L. Jackson). The church is in a feud with the strip club up the street Krystal and Crimzen work at, the Chicken Coop, ran by Smooth Walker (Nicolas Cage). Walker is tight with Butch and often gets drugs or hot merchandise from him. The church protests the club on Saturday nights and on Sunday mornings those at the club protests the church. This is in Ohio, where women being topless in public isn’t a crime, so the strippers protest topless in front of the church. This draws media attention from veteran journalist Charlie Manzak (Michael Keaton) of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Susan Clark (Katey Sagal) is the newly elected sheriff of the county. She only got elected because her husband, the former sheriff, was killed in the line of duty on what seemed like a routine traffic stop. The killer has yet to be identified. Clark immediately butts heads with her chief of detectives Billy Watts (Jeff Bridges), who was her husband’s old partner when they first started. Susan had an affair with Billy years ago.
Under Billy’s nose, Susan taps a fresh cadet from the police academy to work as an undercover stripper as she thinks Walker had something to do with her husband’s death. Walker hires her instantly because of her fresh look and gives her the name of Fresh Allie (Hailee Steinfeld). She’s immediately sniffed out by Manzak, who won’t out her if she feeds him information too, which Allie doesn’t tell Susan. Allie is immediately disliked by the strip club’s ‘den mother,’ Mama Bear (Tiffany Haddish), because the attention Smooth is giving her.
Steam
Set in an alternate version of Victorian London, 'Steam' is the story of Mr. Kincaid (Timothy Olyphant) and Mr. Evers (Mahershala Ali). Along with their protege Steele (Aaron Paul), Mr. Kincaid and Mr. Evers attempt to right the wrongs of a city that is falling apart. Around every corner is another challenge, whether it be from crime lord Phineas Glass (Ron Perlman) and his son Osgood (Iwan Rheon), mercenary Hattie Anvil (Gwendoline Christie), or master of the occult Eliza Griswold (Danai Gurira).
Of course, not everyone in London is out to get them. Reporter Flora Turner (Christina Hendricks) and her husband Deputy Clement Turner (Alan Tudyk) do what they can to help clean up the streets, and even street urchin Lucas Pinch (Finn Wolfhard) can be found on the right side of the law from time to time.
In a city known for it's secrets, no one is more mysterious than Artemus Gold (Tom Hardy). Secluded away in his airship for years, does Gold know the true reason behind the plague that is cursing London? And how does his estranged wife Charlotte Locke (Thandie Newton) fit into it all?
Brought to you by the visionary mind of Guillermo del Toro, 'Steam' is a deep dive into a steampunk London where anything is possible, although most of it may kill you.
