Looking for 10 to 12 teams to draft 30 rounds with five add/drop slots. You will be using those you draft to compose a minimum of three cards with a final between the top two teams.
Eight hour standard clocks with suspensions between midnight and 8 a.m. est daily. The first clock of each day expires at noon. So it’s noon or however much time the person had left on the clock at the midnight pause, whichever comes first. We did that this year in the main draft and I think it helped with people checking in. First miss is no penalty. Second miss is four hour clocks. Third miss is auto skip for rest of draft.
Eligible to draft is anybody ever. Real wrestlers. Real people alive or dead. Fictional characters. You can’t draft inanimate objects or abstract concepts, so no God.
Wrestlers will be treated like the real wrestling draft. Once a person is drafted all of their individual gimmicks go with them. If you take Mick Foley, somebody else can’t take Cactus Jack, Dude Love or Mankind. Some would argue that these are all fictional characters, but it’s just going to be cleaner this way.Once a fictional character is drafted, all versions of that characters are gone. If you take Batman/Bruce Wayne, you have access to that character in all forms. So somebody can’t take DC Comics Batman and somebody else take Arkham Asylum Batman.
Also be very clear and precise in who you are drafting. You can’t just say Batman as many different people have played Batman in comics, such as Bruce Wayne, Damien Wayne and Dick Grayson. This will mostly be for comics characters.
Once a real person is drafted all fictional versions of that character go with them. When somebody drafts Abraham Lincoln, they would also have access to Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter or Lincoln from Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.
Actors can portray characters they’re known for, but you have to specify that in your cards. Michael Keaton can be Batman one show and Beetlejuice the next, but you have an actor in the role, not the fictional character. So it should be listed Batman (Michael Keaton) vs. Joker (Heath Ledger). In your cards you need to be as specific as possible in who you’re booking as well as people may not remember who you drafted.
Contests can be anything you want. Again be specific. Wrestling matches, football games, car races, two guys playing chess, mass roster freeze tag. Book whatever the hell you want.
Trading will be allowed for picks or talent. There will be no add/drop or trading between rounds.
I’ll set dates once we get around 10 teams. Feel free to make comments and suggestions for debate and discussion. I’m open to about anything. The idea here is to make this draft as open and free as possible while still have some sort of structure. Any questions on if a pick is kosher can always be directed to me beforehand.
