If we are going to do this, I want to have it down in writing.
COVID Cancellation/Postponement Policy
OPTION 1: Designated Player Option
If a game is cancelled/postponed after the start of the Sunday NFL games, the following can be enacted:
If you have a concern that a game may be cancelled due to COVID occurrences, you can send the commissioners replacement picks via Pun's House private message. Send to Dash (gb) and David (dbohn). Replacement picks not sent to both commissioners run the risk of being disqualified.
Required format of the replacements:
Week X:
Concerned player: Name (position-team)
Replacement player: Name (position-team)
Example:
Week 5:
Concerned player: Derrick Henry (RB-TEN)
Replacement player: Cam Akers (RB-LAR)
If the player you are concerned about does not play, the score for the replacement player will be adjusted by the league manager. In ESPN, only the overall score is adjusted, the roster for that week will reflect the originally selected player.
If the game in question is cancelled/postponed before the start of the Sunday NFL games, this replacement designation cannot be made/counted.
OPTION 2: Best Projected Replacement Option
Before the start of the NFL game day (Thursday before the TNF game, Sunday before the morning games, Monday before the MNF game) a screenshot is taken of all of the rosters, and if a player is out for the week due to a COVID cancellation that is not known before the start of the Sunday morning games, then the final score for the highest projected player on your bench in the same position can be used to replace that of the player who did not play due to the COVID cancellation.
For week 5, only Sunday and Monday players would be eligible to be used as a projection replacement as the Thursday night game has already happened.
OPTION 3: No change to current league practices
Any player not playing due to a COVID related cancellation or postponement is treated as any other player would be according to their status on ESPN.
If an option wins the poll with at least 6 out of 10 votes, the option will be in place for the remainder of the season. If the winning option does not own a majority of the votes, it will be in place for Week 5 only, and we will revote with the top 2 options only and the majority vote getting option will be used for the remainder of the season. If there is no majority getting option upon the second vote (6 votes for one option from current team owners) then there will be no permanent change for the 2020 season.
