Cletus - This is a quietly good card. I had to read it a couple times before really appreciating it. Miro vs. Haku and Hennig vs. Ziggler immediately jumped out at me, but George vs. Breeze and Abdullah vs. New Jack are intriguing matchups. Ladd vs. Omos is a damn train wreck and that triple threat tag match just exposes how weak your tag division is.

Dev - This card is a hat on a hat. You have a tag tournament with every match having a gimmick. Most of those gimmicks feel well suited to the teams involved, but it’s too much going on. Your women’s division makes a nice break for the tournament and that’s decent talent for as late as you started putting the women’s division together. It’s a good thing I read your fed thread, because I would have assumed that a “contender ladder match” was, you know, a ladder match. So, the winners are advancing to a ladder match to earn a number one contender’s match? There’s nothing that’s just a match.

Sharky - A lot of interesting matchups and tag teams. I imagine Morton and Road Dogg vs. Gibson and Gunn will happen on another card, but I would have done that here. It’s glaring to split them like that and then not have them opposite each other. I get putting the six man as your main event, but it feels a bit jokey to headline. But, on the other hand, that allows you to take some risks with your heavyweight title match in using Okada, Martel and Cardona. Other than Pat McAfee, that’s a good ladder match. He’s good for being untrained and this is a match that won’t expose him, but I can’t help to think he’s getting critically injured.

Cliff: Brilliant thinking outside the box. Guys have done match titles and listed segments in the past, so this doesn’t go outside what we allow, but it frames everything in such a new way. With that being said, Lynch vs. Rosa is the only match I really like. I could see where many would like Vader vs. Big E, but in real life I don’t think that comes off great. Lee vs. Bigelow could be a sleeper.

Hodgey: You have a lot of big man vs. little man matches and they feel like too much of a styles clash for me. I like Black vs. Juvi and Usos vs. Hardys much better. Roberts vs. Miz really intrigues me. I like that you’re using Monsoon and Ventura as a tag team and then vs. the Good Brothers is one of my favorite matches on your card. I also love Lita vs. Rousey and Michaels vs. Rock.

Mayhem: I don’t know what it says that my favorite match by far is Satana vs. Zenk vs. Jannetty. That’s a show stealer. I also love Wolves vs. Von Erichs and Sting vs. Breakker. The top half of the card is money on paper, but I’m not feeling it personally. Edge vs. Page is the best of the rest for me.

Bcoop: That doubles women’s match is a dumpster fire that doesn’t make sense. These are two independent matches happening in the same ring at the same time? Are there two different referees? I looked to see if you explained this in your fed threat, but you didn’t. If you get involved with someone from the other match, is it a DQ? It also feels insulting to both women to make them into jokes. It’s a shame, because I like most of everything else here. Pairing Triple H with Zelina has potential and I like him against Andrade. Styles vs. DDP vs. Mero might be the best opener of any card. Loved Finlay vs. Balor with the Irish tie in. Smothers vs. Dreamer is a sleeper.

RJmap: Too many multi-man matches. I find myself liking a certain pairing, like Kim vs. Victoria, but then gets bogged down by the other talent involved. Stud Stable vs. Pretty Wonderful is good, but then you throw in the Natural Disasters. Undertaker vs. Kane vs. Koloff vs. Sid is okay as there’s a some different matchups and stories you can tell as a fourway. JBL vs. Magnum TA would have been good as its own match. Bomb vs. Mable vs. Tyrus works good for a triple threat, but the other guys don’t fit with the big guys. Candido vs. Adonis I like. I would have broke up the multi-man matches more.

WWEfan: Your women’s matches are the best, because the talent is varied in eras. While I admire your commitment to old school and underused talent, there’s just not much talent variety there. I can also see some people complaining that you didn’t use all your talent and your card is short, but that doesn’t bother me at all.

Eric: I don’t think you need to have people who only wrestled in Lucha Underground, but some of those guys don’t feel like the fit the fed from what it was. I’m down for Daniel Bryan vs. Drew McIntyre, but I don’t know if they feel like LU talent. But with that said, this is a great card with a nice mix of talent. I can’t wait for the Steiners and Dr. Death to destroy the Elite. Harlem Hurt Business vs. American Alpha Academy could be a real sleeper. The dark matches are fine, but I think the card might be stronger without them.

Eco: The YouTube preshow is a great idea. It allows you to use some different people who might not be in matches. I like Rude vs. Reigns on its own without Grimes. Lesnar vs. Foley with Mr. T as the referee is my favorite match. Belair vs. Kong could be good. I can’t explain why, but I’m really intrigued by Dibiase and Yoko vs. Batista and D-Von.

Solly: Everything’s a triple threat. (Leo smacks head on desk) In real life that’s going to get tired after about the third match or so. And that’s a shame, because I like the matchups of the top three matches. Austin vs. Cena vs. Hogan has so many dynamics going on. Stratus vs. Ripley vs. Moon is good too. Benoit vs. Nakamura vs. Kingston in a ladder match is awesome as well.

Cole: Too many multi-man matches. The bottom match is just throwing together everybody you had left. The main event is my favorite of any card. Putting Sherri with Rollins is brilliant. The ladder match is solid too, but how can Orange Cassidy climb a ladder with his hands in his pockets?

SG: I’m glad your fed thread explains the storyline. Ricky Steamboat turning is really shocking, but it’s a cool idea to play with. I’m glad I saw you post about putting JYD and Luger together, because I was going to ask about that. Having Dusty off your card due to injury is risky, but since you explain it in storyline, I think it’s a risk that pays off. I wish your whole tag division wasn’t tied up in that battle royal. It feels like a glut in the middle of the card. Everything else I love and this was my top card of the first round.

Matte: I think I like Christian and Cody vs. Kerry and Bobby more than how you have it. Punk vs. Cage is interesting booking, especially in a three stages of hell match. I like you having a trio championship and I like those teams. T&A vs. Murder Express has me more intrigued than it should. I think I’m burned out on triple threat, but Owens vs. Allin vs. Ciammpa is super interesting to me. Maybe my second favorite card of this round.

I think Roode (and Christian to a lesser extent) is more interesting as a heel. Kerry is an obvious face. Cody works both ways, but I liked him as his current superface character for this one.

And I have Cody vs. Kerry penciled in for a later card and didn't want to give it away in a tag match on card 1.

First of all, thanks to everyone for your creativity and hard work. And for giving me a creative outlet. I’ve needed it with the stress in my personal life with two ongoing (non-life threatening) medical issues in my family that have been a burden the past 6+ months.

A lot to like and I will watch the hell out of these cards. I don’t know what’s #1 or #16. But I’m pretty sure I know #5 and #6. I have a love/hate with Solly and Dev’s cards.

Dev picked a lane and I believe he worked his idea harder than anyone. And I totally respect that. And for neglecting his womens division in the draft, he still pulled some great matches. The problem being, I’m not the biggest tag team guy. I appreciate all the stipulations, which doesn’t feel like its too much, but all a tag team tournament does feel too much.

As for Solly… I feel everything could go either way. Greatness or train wreck. Having listened to approximately 648 hours of this announce team on their podcasts, I’m pretty confident that Fred Solomon the announcer will shit all over Fred Solomon the drafter and Fred Solomon the booker. While Hodgey tries to keep everything on track. Until he gets drunk. Drunk Hodgey who keeps spilling his beer while calling Lita/Rousey or HBK/Rock is either a highlight or a disaster. I’m totally fascinated but also realistic that they could ruin it.

As for the card, Solly seemed to draft Best Player Available and has a lot of talent. I just prefer a bit more variety and not all three-way matchups. So the talent might win out, or maybe not. Also: Rocky Johnson. Son.

A few other random thoughts:

I am curious to see if Angle/Savage and Rock/HBK are one-offs or ongoing feuds. Both are Wrestlemania-tier Main Events on their own, but long term feuds could certainly carry a company.

Where’s Tim??? That was my favorite part of the draft! I get the swerve, but I was looking forward to that storyline!

Dublin Pub Match. Border Patrol. Pour Horseman. Bret v Seth. Breeze v Gorgeous George. KO/Darby/Ciampa. Steamboat heel turn. All Awesome.

I don’t like Sheamus at all. Ultimate Warrior I look back on as a one trick pony. But I really want to see this match.

I personally don't see how the match can be serious with all the setups for comedy. The commentators lose track of which match is which. The referees mix up who is doing what match. The women switch opponents at some point and don't realize it for a minute. The ladies keep trying not to bump into each other or do "a please, after you" bit or a bit where two of the opposites almost slam into each other, then don't, then get pushed into each other.

No argument on the multi-man. I typically don't like this many either. Trying to hand out titles without a defined structure or tournaments though proves difficult. Adding in Elimination stips is a way to try and help the feeling of getting more individual feuds branching off. Ladder matches typically are my favorite "type" of multi-man match and I thought fit into the "Calgary" theme as Bret always points to its origin being in Calgary.

I'll defend the 8 man tag a little bit. It does appear to be "everybody else" but when I created the match I hadn't yet used everybody. It is meant to get some particular personalities together and really act as a Comedy Team vs a Team that would portray itself as more serious wrestlers while still actually bringing comedic chops as well.


Sherri to me is one of the most under-rated talents ever. Her paired with Seth would be great. Stay tuned for more Sherri goodness.


As for Orange climbing a ladder? Are you directly quoting what Jerry Lawler would say about that?

Not that this is a particularly successful concept, but its one that I find easier then always having to create champions in a 3 or 4 card window of showdowns
