We arrive at that magical point in time. The one-year celebration of the Punboards. Yes, it's been a year since these were formed. Some of us have been along for all or most of the ride. Others jumped on board sometime later. But regardless, there's been a lot of fun had here and...dare I say it...some tight community built.

In any event, it's time to have some fun. To recognize greatness. To call out shitiness. And yes...to definitively answer the question...What's up Dev's Butt?


So how's this gonna work?


Categories:
Poster of the Year/MVP - Who was the definitive poster / overall MVP of the Punboards. He / she who brought the most.

Dipshit of the Year- You know the deal - everytime you saw this person had posted...you cringed.

Best Thread - Which thread did YOU enjoy the most? Last Person to Post? [Lucky]Something else?[/lucky]

Worst Thread - What thread did you FUCKING HATE THE MOST???

Best Avatar/Theme - We don't just have avatars here - we have themes. Avs. Custom sigs. Signature files. Which individual component or holistic theme did you love the most?

Worst Avatar/Theme - The opposite - what drove you batshit everytime you saw it?

Best Fake Account - Up until Pun deleted 'em all, we had a host of characters registered and posting here. Which fake account was the best?

Best Temp Banning - From OpTard's (somewhat recurring) Weekly Random Temp Bans to the spontaneous "Ya Done Pissed Me Off", we've had our share of bans. Which was the best?

Best Profile Hijack - with tons of admins comes tons of profile hijacks. This is where someone besides the poster took over someone else's account and bestowed upon them a theme. Remember what Lucky did to Dev with the Charmed thing? Perfect example of what we're talking about here.

Biggest Homo - Ummm...do I need to explain?

Best Person to Register and Never Fucking Post - A phenomenon we've had here is people registering yet never posting. So who's the best of the bunch?

Most Annoying Fantasy Pick'Em - Some of us do the fantasy picks..and some don't. For those that don't, the boards get innundated with "I pick Joe Faggy, QB, New York Giants" crap. We've done baseball...football...hockey....horseshoes......ugh. Which pissed you off the most?

Best Moose - Who is the best Moose on the boards? Not a trick category.

Best Flame (not Flamer) - What was the single post flame that just rocked or had you in stitches?

Best Feud - Let the fur fly!!! Which posters had the best/most entertaining cat fight?

Most Creative Post (aka inaugural Moose better win something award) - There have been some damn creative posts here. Which one wins it?

And lastly...

What's Up DevSop's Butt - Pretty much everything that could have been up there has been there. But what is the single greatest thing Dev has managed to shove up there?



Nominations
Each category gets its own thread. Nominate ONLY ONE OR TWO entries per category. The top 3 entries in each category will move on to a poll to determine the winner. In the event that there is a tie amongst entries, Solly and I alone will determine the final 5.


Voting/Teh Winner
A poll will be set up with up to the top 5 nominations in each category. Voting will commence on each for ~ 1 week. In event of a tie there will be a tiebreaker. In event of a second tie, Solly and I will decide. In event we are deadlocked I will pick the winner.

Pun - # of categories wasn't intentional - just came up with some stuff that was normal, some stuff that seemed fun. I'm sure next year there will be some of the same, some that drop off, and a few new ones.


And Dev - come on. I wanted to have some fun at your expense here, and while I might have been on the fence about it, you reverting back to the DevSop I know and love on my cable drama nominations sealed the deal. At the very least, be thankful I didn't do my promised weekly edition of "What's Up Dev's Ass".

There are a few categories I expected to see a few more nominations in - specifically most creative post, best thread, worst thread, and best photoshop. I think there's a lot of good stuff out there but it's either hard for people to remember things (like the photoshops and creative posts, which are embedded in all sorts of different threads). If you remember any of them, point them out - they might jog people's memories and get some more nominations flowing.

OK I've gone and created categories for things that got decent nominations. The purpose of this was always less about categories and voting and more about remembering and celebrating some of the greatness that has happened here over the past year. I still can't believe it's been a year.... A lot of fun that's been had, and a lot of fun to be had.

Apologies if anyone was offended, felt shut out, etc etc by any of this. Again was hoping for more reminiscing on all the goodness and wackiness that we've been through.

I may throw out another poll or two in the next couple days, but if not, just remember this was all meant in fun. Vote up and thanks!
