Love Punch-Out--played on the Wii VC just a couple weeks ago (and why is Soda Popinski all of a sudden difficult for me, btw?), but Zelda just has too much going for it. Nothing like throwing boomerang after boomerang at those damn Weevils.

I'm debating retracting my Zelda vote and going Punch Out. I just don't know. Its two very different type of game plays that I loved. I bought both on VC and play both. One is about a quick 15 minutes of play before you go somewhere and the other is about something that will waste your time for awhile.

Unlike Tecmo I never encountered a boxing game that was better than Punch Out. I was all for more involved and realistic stuff for football, but simple was what I wanted out of boxing. Short of that D&B one that lets me put on gloves and count the calories I burn Punch Out has never been topped.

But still. Zelda. Its the game that made me stop calling all wizard and fairy things "gay." And which made me first start looking at RPGs.

I just don't know.

Punchout for the Wii looks spectacular. I will definitely be buying that when it comes out.

I liked Punch Out for the NES a lot, but I was looking for them to do a much closer adaptation of the original arcade version, and I was just a bit disappointed with what I got. Considering how many quarters I gave Nintendo while trying to beat Piston Hurricane the second time around (after winning the title) I think I deserved that. Arcade Punch Out and Super Punch Out still rank as my favorite arcade games of all time. But I guess I had higher expectations than I should have. So that being said, my disappointment with the NES punch out breaks the tie in my head and gives my vote to Zelda. This is the one game that started me on my post Atari 2600 gaming life, and was the first game I bought for my original NES. It was awesome, groundbreaking, and took my gaming interestes in a whole new direction. I only own 2 games for the Wii right now and one is Zelda. I have to go with Link here.

Maravane, check out Super Punch Out for SNES. It's much closer to the arcade version than the NES version. It's even got arcade favorites like Piston Hurricane, Bear Hugger, and Dragon Chan!

That said, the Wii Punch Out does look awesome.
