I'm amazed that ANYONE can regularly view THIS site at work and yet stress over an image the size of a thumbnail that fails to display any nudity.

I mean, surely the threat of reading a racist or sexually degrading comment is higher? No?

Lucky, people can see pictures a lot more clearly than words when they walk by. If a person takes a look at one's computer and sees that image or something similar, it looks like porn. They don't stop and look specifically for a sexist comment or a racist comment.

At my old job, it really depended on who it was. Another co-worker? Unless they are nosy as shit (like one who liked to read over my shoulder when I was checking my e-mail) it shouldn't be a problem. If it's my boss or the owner of the fucking company? Then yeah. It's why I didn't frequently visit Pun's or OO or ESPN.com or whatever, but when I did, I was discrete.

But anytime Punker posted something, I scrolled past it really fast and read it later. Didn't want ANYONE to glance at the av and think I was looking at porn, making it a bigger deal that it was.

Aren't there two images on this entire message board that are seen regularly that make it seem like I'm looking at porn?

I'm in grad school. I'm not going to get fired from anything, and I'm only at my computer at home and in my cubicle at the college. But my fiancee, sitting on the couch next to me, rolls her eyes when I linger at a Punker post. And my cube mate has asked what the fuck I'm looking at.

I'm not saying it should be banned. I know it's part of his image/personality as is any avatar or sig. I just think that the "bad" far outweighs the "good".
