It's the second round here in the Punshouse TV Network Showdown and we have a very interesting match on the other half of Region 1.

Lucky easily won his portion over bd and Anglefan, but he faces a much stiffer test now. Demko may have surprised some people with how close he kept his match with Eric. Can he overcome the more experienced drafter Lucky? Or will Lucky's serious plan be enough to advance him? The winner will move on to face Solly or Psycho.

Sunday - Demko in a strong night even for shows I don't watch. I've heard enough great things about all the shows on this night and want to check them out eventually especially Dexter. For Lucky I will check out The Wire.

Monday - More interested in Lucky's 3 shows on this night.

Tuesday - I like both networks offering from 8-10. I'll watch Lucky's and DVR Demko.

Wednesday - More interested in Demko on this night. Dexter's Lab through Muppets is especailly strong.

Thursday - The only show I'm watching for sure is Batman. But I have interest in Wonder Woman, Big Bang, Monty, and Richard Pryor

Friday - Young Indiana & Alfred Hitchcock are the strong shows of this night for Lucky. Nothing for me over at Demko.

Once again a tie in total hours viewed.

Demko - 2.5 Live, 7 DVR
Lucky - 2 Live, 7.5 DVR

I like Demko's complete Sunday better then Lucky's complete Monday. I give Lucky then slight edge on shows I can't miss since he has Wonder Years. This might be the closest decision of the showdowns for me so far. I'm voting with Demko right now but my vote can be swayed on this one for sure.

I don't know, I think these networks basically speak for themselves. If you don't like a show I'm not going to change your mind. If you don't know a show my talking isn't going to win you over. If it was 1 or 2 shows maybe it would be worthwhile to argue that The Wire is written by David Simon who did Homicide. Or that The Black Donnellys is written by Paul Haggis who did Crash. But for a network as a whole? You've probably heard the hype on most of my shows, seen commercials, dismissed it as uninteresting or bad. So what are you gonna do?

I'm just pissed I'm going to get run over by a network with Miami Vice and Nip/Tuck. THAT hearts.

These two are most evenly matched for me if I go hour by hour. I'm still not sure where to vote. I'm leaning towards Demko just because Chuck might be the most fun I have watching TV right now and the last episode was great. But then Lucky has Freaks which is just amazing. Mother and Big Bang are basically a wash, but Lucky wins the comedies after that with Wonder Years and the supposedly great Sunny. At this point it comes down to I've watched more of Demko's network (4400, Nip/Tuck, Baywatch, & Dexter) but I want to see more of Lucky's (Rescue Me, Wire, Carnivale, Sunny, & Donnellys).

I could be swayed.

Lucky has Sunday wrapped up easily. Jericho is a great show that I am now getting to watch as it's entire run is being replayed on the CW on Sundays at 7. The Wire is a show that I'm getting into, and will most likely purchase the entire series today. And I've shown interest in John Adams before too.

Monday: Call it a push. I like both Mondays.

Tuesday: Demko and Nip/Tuck get this night for me.

Wednesday: Lucky wraps it up with Las Vegas and The Tudors.

Thursday: The only show I'm watching is Big Bang Theory. The rest, I either can't stand (especially the cartoons) or have no interest in. So Lucky by default.

Friday: Hmm. I'd probably watch Batman, but Carnivale intrigued me during the draft.

Gotta give the nod to Lucky. In retrospect, a pretty damn good network. I like Demko's network ok. But I realize my viewing tastes and others are pretty damn different.

See, I like Lucky. Without sounding like a fag, I value his opinion. He told peoplre to check out the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia show. So I watched it one night. Some episode at the horse track where everyone just acted dumb. Like just going for dumb laughs dumb. Annoying dumb. But I gave it a chance.

Then there was a scene with one of the lead guys and he's talking to a 90 year old looking jockey who just stares at him. I thought to myself, "This is where he says something vulgar so people can think this show is 'edgy' and 'funny' but it will just end up being stupid and reaching." Guess what the old guy says when he's asked a question? "Can I snort a line of coke off your boner?"

I turned it and haven't thought about turning it back on. That's a LOSS Lucky.

Not to nitpick but are we really assigning negative value to a network that carries shows we don't like? I mean I HATE American Idol with a passion and everything it has done to pop culture. I can't eat lunch with coworkers without wanting to puncture my ears because that is all they talk about. But still if I was voting for a network in real life I'd probably vote FOX because I watch more of FOX then any other network. I watch Simpsons, King of the Hill, 24, House, Fringe, Til Death. That is easily the network that occupies most of my time.

I'm not assigning negative points, but for two networks that are neck and neck, I might sway towards the network that doesn't have something I hate with every fiber of my being. Like if a network was to have "The Creepy Jackalope Hour" and it was tied with a network that DIDN'T have "The Creepy Jackalope Hour," well the network without would win.

Back to being undecided. I would watch MORE of Lucky's network, but I'd enjoy what I watch of Demko's more. This might just come down to the fact that I don't think anything on Lucky's network could match up with Chuck for me. But then again, even when I'd be choosing Demko's channel over Lucky, I might DVR Lucky's programs. Demko totally loses me on Thursday and Friday is very iffy. Hell, I'm not a big fan of Wednesday either. But his Sunday/Monday is really strong.
