To Angstboy for coming in first in the season. Will he be able to make it 2 in a row and keep his first round draft pick?
At the end of next season (if everyone approves) The regular season winner will get to keep their second round pick and the playoff winner keeps their first round pick or can take the first draft pick.
The way I understood it, the winner simply has no round-limitations on one of his keepers right? So technically, the league winner could keep his 2nd or 3rd instead, if he wanted right? That's what I remember lobbying for, anyway.
I do like the idea of additional incentives for winning. As far as additional prizes, how 'bout this:
The league champ gets to keep one guy with no round restrictions. The runner-up gets to keep one guy from up through the 2nd round. The regular season leader gets to keep one guy from up through the 3rd round.

OBVIOUSLY, this means a hell of a lot more for me than anyone else right now. I'd really just like to know if I can keep Ovechkin as compensation for winning the league last season, to be honest. As payment I'd sacrifice my 1st round pick, naturally. It'd work the same way for whoever wins this season, I'd imagine.
And this was the poll question I posed: "Poll Question: Should the winner be able to keep one player from rounds 1-3 as a prize for winning?" That's how I formulated my argument throughout the rest of that thread and I think, at least I HOPE, that's what everyone realized they were voting on. It just gives the winner a few more options in case he doesn't want to keep his first rounder for some reason. I mean to me it seems silly that you'd be allowed to keep a first rounder but not be allowed to keep your second or third if you wanted.
But whatever. Now's the time to talk about this kind of thing.

I referenced the same thread a few posts ago. We're debating it because the wording Scotty used (gets to keep a first rounder) and the wording I used (gets no round restrictions on one of his keeper picks) are distinctly different and I wanted to make sure we're all on the same page. Especially since he's the commish.
We aren't debating whether or not the winner gets compensation, we're debating the specifics of what that compensation IS.
