White Queen was a title she used to hold as a member of the Inner Circle of the Hellfire Club, not a code name. Do people still call her the White Queen now that she isn't in the Hellfire Club anymore?
No, but then again no one still calls Nightwing "Robin." And you have military ranks up there so a rank within the Hellfire Club that she was known exclusively as for a long time seems like it should be up there. I didn't even know her name for a long time.
How to make a roster sig. 'Cause making roster avs is time consuming enough, so I want to pass as much work as possible on to you all.
First go to the roster post and quote it or something, so that you have the codes in front of you and then copy the block of codes for your roster grid. The one with your name at the top. Then paste that into a post and preview. For me, I would have this:
Now, if you want you can rearrange your guys--just copy the section of code that says the hero's name, the artist's name and the av size, like ThingByrne60, and switch that with "WhichHero" in a different box of the grid.
Hit "preview" again and see if you have it the way you want it. Next, do you want to switch any of the avs? Just change to the name of the other artist, or "copy image location" on the version on the top post and paste in the block where you want it, delete the old img code, and change "100" to "60" to change the av size.
For instance, I think I want the Romita, Jr. DD instead of Wally Wood. And so:
So, now I'm happy with what I have, so I hit CTRL ALT Print Screen, and then paste into paint to crop and upload to my photobucket, and I have one image instead of six to use as a banner.
Serg, I'm a little more into it than I was a week ago. If you want to give me the basic specs on your images I'll be glad to help out. More options for people at least since you and I have distinctly different taste in comic art.
Tard: I take it the Ric Estrada 1st appearance art doesn't float your boat either? The Turner image was parody, sorry. "Hey! Eyes up here!" I wondered if anybody would ever call me on that. I'll get an additional Modern one added when I get a chance. Or maybe Lucky will beat me to it.
Lucky: I make a 100X100 image by cropping and re-sizing, and then I go to the "decorations" tab in the photobucket edit mode, and switch from the default one to "vignette/matte." Then I save it and rename it based on the character name, (something unique--"Wally" rather than Flash for Wally West) the artist, then the av size. Then I edit again reducing size to 60X60, save a copy and change the "100-1" part of the name to "60".
Thanks for the offer of help. I can see why you didn't want to take it on again, it's one hell of a lot of work.
someone posted an "eyes up here" panel in the thread after i drafted her that was drawn by conner. i'll happily take that one if a tit shot is in order.
Any picture of Power Girl is a tit shot, but as far as the specific joke of cropping out the face and centering the tits? Nah. That joke was aimed at Turner as much as Power Girl. I mean, really, how the hell do you manage to draw her so that fanboys (mostly) all agree that Power Girl's breasts are too big?
That is truly an amazing feat in awfulness.
i just really never liked turner's stuff.
Look at that, we agree about something comic book related once again! The apocalypse is surely nigh.
I don't know. The way I understood it, when you pick a guy, all alternate world or alternate timeline versions go, too. Vance Astro/Major Victory is and alternate timeline version of Justice/Marvel Boy. Does that mean I could choose either of them now, just like Lucky could choose for Dick Grayson to be Robin or Nightwing? I dunno.
In any case, I have no intention of doing so. I like Marvel Boy a lot, but Astro is almost the same guy except more experienced plus he has the shield. Edge goes to Astro.
And as far as the names in the grids, I've been including former code names, not alternate-timeline code names. Astro was the same little kid Vance Astrovik as Justice once was, but they diverged in their teens--Astro's powers kicked in later, so he became an astronaut instead of a superhero.
I was always of the impression that Astro's telekinesis was CONSIDERABLY inferior to Marvel Boy/Justice's. Because Astro didn't discover it until late? Because Marvel Boy worked on it as a teen? Because the suspending animation and containment suit fucked with up? I don't know. Once Astro ditched the suit and became Major Victory it seemed to up a bit with him using it and the shield together, but he never seemed capable of the huge feats Marvel Boy/Justice did like carrying a bunch of people a long way or projecting a blast shield.
What, you don't want Major Victory?
And yeah, that distinction is why I think the "Astro is Justice" is kind of murky. They ARE the same guy but they're not REALLY the same guy. Major Victory was never Marvel Boy and Marvel Boy will never be Justice. But I guess that's no real different than Superman and Superboy Prime. I guess.
