Once upon a time the comics universe got thrown into complete disarray. Every character ever created for a comic book was brought into a place called PunsHouse and they were told that their universes had been destroyed and they were being shifted into 14 separate universes. Friends and lovers were going to be torn apart. Family may not survive through this, but for everyone this was the chance for something new. For some it would be the chance to redeem themselves without their pasts being held over their heads. And for others it would be the chance to become a leader that they were never allowed to become in their own universe.

When the discussions were finished, the choices were made, and the final decisions had been solidified, the creator of one those universes brought his 18 final choices into a room to decide on his teams. This creator looks at those who stood before him and he noticed that some people had flocked together based on their histories together and he also noticed the looks of dislike passing between others, most especially Jean Grey and Emma Frost. And these were the first two people the creator called forward. He looked between the two and he asked them point blank if they could work together. Both mumbled a yes without looking at one another and the creator nodded as he sent them back to the group. The creator stood and announced that his decisions had been made.

Since I already mentioned that Emma Frost would be the leader of one of the other two teams, let me introduce that team now. Ms. Frost or The White Queen as she has been known in the past has not always been a hero. In fact she has toed the line between good and evil as well as anyone. But recently, she has shown herself a true hero with the X-Men and she has shown herself a skilled leader as with Generation X. But times have changed and sometimes, shades of grey may be needed. This is the team I hope will be able to cross the lines between good and evil, between black and white. This is the team I hope can stay on The Fringes. The team will consist of heroes, of that there should be no doubt, and if that ever does come into question, I know there are people on the team who will help shift the focus to where it needs be. But sometimes, just sometimes, it will be necessary to make sacrifices. I hope I have not made the wrong choice in making Emma Frost, the Team Leader of The Fringes.


And then I looked at everyone else gathered here and I wondered who would be the best people to carry the goals of this team into the field and my eyes settled on one person. She has the skill of a history of fighters that have come before her. She carries a weapon that was wielded by the very best in her field. She comes from the future and she has shown herself to be an excellent fighter. But now she will prove herself an excellent field captain as she leads The Fringes into their battles. She was a vampire slayer, and now she is a field leader; she is Melaka Fray, or simply Fray.


The next member of the team is a second-generation hero. He is the son of Oliver Queen and Moonday Hawke. He is an excellent archer, as was his father and he is a master martial artist. He’s been through a lot in his life, but now is the time for him to step out of his father’s shadow and make a name for himself. He will do that as a member of The Fringes. He is Connor Hawke, also known as The Green Arrow.


Next up for this team is the member I’m hoping will be the one to keep the balance of focus on the good and heroic side. She is from a family of heroes and is a former student of Emma’s in Generation X and then later she became a full-fledged member of the X-Men. She has been entrusted with the task of keeping her team on the straight and narrow in the past and she will have that same task here. She is the third master martial artist on this team so this team will have no issues when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. But her main skill is the ability to shed her skin and metamorphosing into a different composition. There will also be no one who works harder than she does when it comes to making The Fringes a team to be reckoned with. She is Paige Guthrie, also known as Husk.


The fifth member of the team is a former member of both X-Factor and The Avengers, but he has also been a member of The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. He is now being separated from his sister, which will need him to be watched closely, but no one can deny what he brings to a team. His superhuman speed and experience on both sides of the war between good and evil will be invaluable. He is the classic definition of an anti-hero, and it will be up to his teammates to make sure he and the rest of you focus on the hero aspect instead of the anti aspect. He is a perfect example of someone who will fight from The Fringes. He is Pietro Maximoff, also known as Quicksilver.


The last member of the team is another person with second-generation powers, but in her case she comes from parents who were truly evil. But this didn’t affect her as she has shown herself to be a hero in the short time she has been around. She is the youngest member of this team, but it doesn’t diminish her abilities or her role on this team. She has been shown as a leader in the past and she will utilize her experience on the street and use her knowledge of what her parents were to show that who a person is doesn’t need to be defined by whom they came from. She will use her sorcery and her Staff of One to help the team as needed. She is going to be the future of this team on The Fringes. She is Nico Monoru, also known as Sister Grimm.

I'm voting mainly for teams with characters I know/like. If I have no clue who the characters on a team are, they are not getting my vote.

I'm torn. I too find it hard to vote against Spidey. On the other hand the only other person on that team who I even remotely care for is Arachne. Fringes is a pretty "meh" team too though. I don't know.

Emma Frost would fuck Madame Web up psychically. Spider-Man would be too busy making jokes while Fray sliced him open with a scythe. Ben would be too busy drooling over Husk and Sister Grimm and Hawkeye would take him out with an arrow between the eyes. Spider-Woman and Archne would be fighting over who has the worst costume and hair allowing Husk and Quicksilver to do some sort of tandem moving using his speed and her changing compositions. And the Spider-Man 2099 would make a mistake and cause Sister Grimm to bleed allowing her Staff of One to erupt from her chest and she'd turn him into a toad with one of her spells.

Come on, this is really simple math people.

I may know less of the characters on Fringes, but I like the ones I do. The Spidey Six isn't very varied, and the have Madame Web, who I only know from the cartoon, showing up to do some lameass cryptic fortune telling.
