I think this is when the Soldiers would start to self-destruct. Elektra could realize she'd get paid more as a free-lance. V would want to start blowing random shit up. Nick Fury's manipulations would come to light and people would stop believing in him. Meanwhile, Generations is now really starting to gel.
The leadership of Kitty Pryde has become evident and she's taken Hawkeye under her wing. Spider-Girl realizes that her destiny is to become the greatest spider-character ever. Black Widow and Jean Grey have really developed a tight bond and there's inherent trust within the team. Wonder Girl has found her true Amazonian bloodline and become a force on this team.
Speaking of random, what the fuck? Have you read V for Vendetta? Every single thing V does throughout the book is calculated. Nothing is random.
Generations runs a couple of risks, though. 1. Black Widow is actually a double agent, yet again, and the team is decimated by HYDRA after she tips them off to the team's weaknesses. 2. Jean Grey goes batshit insane yet again, becomes the Phoenix, and kills every member of the team.
I'd say Fury can keep his team together. He's got enough smarts to keep Elektra interested both monetarily (thinks to Iron Fist's billions) and personally (going after personal targets like Bullseye). As far as him manipulating the team, odds are that he is, but they're getting enough out of the experience that they're cool with it.
