Old School Rev news to start your Wednesday…
-Jessica Hatch wasn’t happy with the direction of her character at the last press event. She wants to be taken seriously as a backstage interviewer, and not the punchline to a few jokes. G-B did hear her complaints, and stressed to her that she is very valuable to the organization, and that they passed up “bigger names” to draft he because they believe she can be something special. [Editor’s note: contrary to popular belief, he did not then beg for a blowjob. Really. He didn’t! Where did you hear that?!]
-It’s already being reported that many celebrities are obtaining tickets to Revolution One: “Shattered.” OSR plans to show them on camera, and might recognize their attendance on the air, but no celebrities are expected to be involved in any way.
-UltimateJobber, who has been coordinating all of the matches prior to the press events, wants to use Duane Gill, Rhett Titus and The Osirian Portal at Shattered, either on camera or in a dark match. They were all drafted as enhancement talent because despite being booked as jobbers, they have great characters that have developed well, and fans have already started to get behind them. Amasis & Ophidian, The Osirian Portal, have specifically been impressing management with their interactions with the fans.
-Considering the lack of planning put towards the Road To Shattered Tour, OSR officials and AMP Energy Drinks executives are astounded at how well the tour is performing. The events are free, but advance ticket promotions have gone well, and all of the events will have huge crowds, looking great on TV.
-The next Road To Shattered Tour event, scheduled for later this week in Memphis, is believed to focus on Kazarian and Lawler, with the event taking place in Lawler’s hometown.
-Spike TV is also very happy with OSR, as the ratings have done very well. With the loss of TNA wrestling (thanks to LuckyLopez), Spike was worried about finding new content to replace it. That worry is now gone.
-Despite his current position on the card, OSR has big plans for Eugene.
-It is expected that wrestlers the fans are less familiar with – Kota Ibushi, Ricky Marvin, Daniel Puder and Kevin Steen to name a few – will get more camera leading up to and right after “Shattered” to brings up to speed on who they are. OSR has placed a priority on bringing lesser known talents to the forefront, evidenced by the placement of Bryan Danielson and Frankie Kazarian in high profile matches.
-As previously reported, Tito Ortiz is being trained by Bryan Danielson. A feature article is expected to circulate in the MMA world about Tito’s training. Many in the MMA world were skeptical, but after seeing his dedication, they are interested to see how he does at “Shattered” and beyond.
