Wow, I didn't expect this much of an ass beating.

Eh, I'm not convinced. Dead has a pretty good show, but it's last week's pretty good show.

Mikey has a good show on paper, but he had a good show on paper last week, too, but only one babyface went over.

Results might sway me here. And/or a follow-up card from Dead.

The Taz/Luger match is what's really hurting here. I just have no desire to see that match. Nor the desire to see DDP three times. That being said, I hate The Undertaker. Gimme a good reason to switch Dead.

Yeah. The DDP and Lex/Taz things really do disappoint me. As I said last week I may be one of the bigger Lex fans as I do think he's plenty enjoyable in the right match. But against Taz is NOT it and I still really can't figure out how Dead came to the idea of that match. Its just a total waste of both guys when Taz could have carried a semi-main event.

And the DDP thing... I said it last week that it really just feels like one of those bad Nitro angles from 10 years ago. DDP wrestles an undercarder in a match no one wants to watch and he beats him. Then he faces impossible odds and of course overcomes them with a Duamondcutter out of nowhere after getting destroyed by the two monsters. Then he faces Rock all beat up and tired. Its just so formulaic and tired... and if it wasn't Ricky Ortiz and Mark Henry maybe I'd be more open to it but all told it just serves to hurt a killer main event for me. Because by the time it rolls around not only will I have seen DDP plenty on the show but the story will dictate a predictable match.

You're kidding, right? I'm well aware of the difference. I just appreciated him matching up two teams that I hadn't thought of being paired off. Both had amazing chemistry and both worked tag team psychology perfectly. The offense used by the Midnights--at it's time--was innovative.

BUT, the current Briscoes vs. the Midnights could be awesome as well. It has the potential to be bad based on the fact that it's an even bigger clash of styles. But if you watch Jay & Mark in singles matches, they both understand psychology very well. I think if their spotty nature was kept to a minumum--and their spots had a proper build--Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. an Eaton & Lane Midnight Express would be phenomenal.

-Tomko dominates the match early, and reeling Kennedy resorts to brass knuckles to fend him off.

-DDP gets destroyed early in the match, but miscommunication leads to Umaga hitting the Samoan Spike on Henry. DDP follows with a Diamond Cutter on Umaga.

After the match, Umaga and Henry look like they're ready to come to blows, but manage to control themselves.

Hardcore Match
The Sandman vs. La Parka
-Anything and everything is used as both men beat the living hell out of each other.

-Morishima takes control of the match early and destroys Memphisto for what looks to be the victory. Suzuki lands and low blow on Morishima and makes the cover on Memphsto himself.

Ladder Match for the DWS Television Title
Kaz vs. Chris Candido
-An instant classic. Both men have multiple chances at the belt, but in the end, Candido is able to dodge a massive moonsault from Kaz and climb the ladder.
Winner: Chris Candido
After the match both men shake hands and soak up the cheers from the crowd.

Sorry. "Could be a clash of styles" and "pure tag team" seemed to apply more to the Briscoes, (Seeing as the Briscos (especially Jack) were very successful singles wrestlers as well) so I thought that you might have missed the lack of "e" there.

I like both of these. I love how Mike's got The Gambler as his jobber-to-everyone and would love to see an old school squash where the Skyscrapers destroy The Gambler. I do think I prefer Dead's card by a tiny bit, though.

Handicap Squash Match:
The Skyscrapers vs. The Gambler

Spivey clothesline decapitates Gambler at the bell. Big boot from Sid. Double chokeslam. And Sid hits the release spinning powerbomb (seen at 0:38 of this video) to finish at 0:58. Spivey has some strong words for the camera after the match and Sid says he's God or something otherwise incomprehensible.


"Rugged" Ronnie Garvin vs. "Red Dogg" Rodney Mack (w/ Slick)

This one's just a slugfest, and a stiff one at that, with both guys potatoing each other at some point during the match. Finish sees Garvin escape the Blackout with a jawbreaker, but Slick interrupts the Garvin Stomp to draw a cheap DQ at 7:08. Garvin lines up the Slickster for the Hands of Stone, but Mack spears Garvin before he can execute, and the heels slither away.

Larry Zbyszko vs. Hardcore Holly

Zbyszko isn't happy about Hardcore hanging him out to dry last week. In a pre-match interview, Holly tells Pamela Paulshock that he's gonna "kick the shit out of that little bastard." Larry stalls (go figure) and Hardcore ends up chasing him to get things going. Zbyszko cheats to get ahead, ramming Hardcore into an exposed turnbuckle. After a brief rally from Holly, Zbyszko cheats again and looks for the standing figure four. But Holly kicks him off, directly into the exposed turnbuckle, and Larry stumbles right back into the Alabama Slam. Hardcore gives him a second one just for the hell of it and gets the pin at 9:45.


#1 Contender Match for the OSW Tag Team Titles:
The Rock & Roll Express vs. Ahmed Johnson & Nikita Koloff

Strength vs. speed is the game here. "The Black Russian" murders Ricky & Robert, and Nikita tells Ahmed to settle down and not get blown up a minute into the match. Sure enough, the RnR's use his overzealousness to their advantage, getting some misdirection going and getting him turned around. Nikita tags in to get some control. Koloff doesn't fall for the same tricks, and a snap belly to belly suplex kills Ricky dead in the middle of the ring. The Russians treat Morton like a ragdoll and throw him all over the place. Ricky blades for the hell of it. Hot tag to Robert after some Russian miscommunication, and Gibson is a house of fire! Crucifix rollup on Ahmed, broken up by Nikita, and the Sickle accidentally takes out referee Nick Patrick. Pearl River Plunge on Gibson... but there's no ref. Ricky tries a crossbody, but Ahmed catches him and slings him over the top with a fallaway slam. Doomsday Device and Gibson is a corpse at this point. The Russians give up on a pin attempt just as Patrick begins to stir, and Nikita goes to the apron. Ahmed sees Morton dragging himself to the apron, blood everywhere, but when Ahmed goes to suplex him in, he walks back into Gibson - simply getting to his knees himself - and trips, and Ricky falls on top for the three count at 21:13 as Nikita turns around and can't believe it!

Terri Runnels interviews Doink the Clown. Terri with some fluff questions, such as "why are you so mean to the fans?" Doink gives some cryptic answers as he takes the interview to the floor, and then covers Mark Madden with a bucket of confetti. Terri asks for some clarification, and gets a bucket of water for her trouble - drawing a big pop from the male audience. Terri tries to somewhat cover up, and Mongo, of all people, gives her his Bears jacket and they leave together.


Boxing Match:
Floyd "Money" Mayweather (w/ Slick) vs. Butterbean

Mayweather and Slick talk a whole bunch of shit to Pamela Paulshock before the bout - with Mayweather telling Pam that she needs to let Doink douse her in water cause she's on fire. Floyd stalls at the bell, and it's clear he's gonna have to use his speed and smarts to stay away from the brawler. First round sees Mayweather work the jab and stay away, and Butterbean can't keep up, only landing some glancing body shots. Butterbean rallies in the second finally getting Mayweather into the corner, and Floyd gets saved by the bell. Slick cuts the laces off Floyd's right glove and talks him up. Butterbean stalks Mayweather at the bell, and as soon as he sneaks around Floyd's jab, Slick hops up on the apron and yells at Butterbean. Referee Patrick steps between them, but the diversion allows Mayweather to get the right glove all the way off and manage to get a pair of brass knuckles on. Butterbean turns around... but DUCKS the big punch, and Mayweather eats a HUGE right hook to the jaw and that's it. Butterbean, KO 3.


OSW Tag Team Championship:
The Midnight Express vs. The Brisco Bros.

Old school tag match if there ever was one. The champs want to speed things up, the challengers want to take things to the mat and make the match a grind. Just a fabulous tag team match with all sorts of cool double team stuff, too much to recap. The Midnights go with heel-styled offense but limit the cheating to hair pulling and tights grabbing, keeping it a relatively clean match. Heat segments on both Jack and Jerry before the big finish. Stereo figure fours get a big pop from the crowd, but Bobby manages to wiggle across the ring and rake Jack's eyes to free Stan, who subsequently breaks Jerry's hold. Rocket Launcher MISSES, and Bobby's hurt. Jerry tries a double underhook suplex, but Stan backdrops him to the floor. Jack takes advantage of Bobby's hurt state and pushes him to the ropes and rolls him up from the back... but Stan sneaks back around and pops him with a superkick, allowing Bobby to roll through and get the pin to retain at 29:21.


Las Vegas Strip Club Match:
The Godfather vs. Pacman Jones (No DQ match actually takes place in a Nevada strip club)

Absolute garbage brawl, with the added bonus of naked women all over the place and dancing music playing the entire time. Too much ridiculousness to recap - drinks in faces, broken bottles, high heels, getting choked out with a bra. The finish sees Pacman send Godfather to the dancing pole, and then Pacman MAKES IT RAIN, but when he realizes he's dropping Benjamins and not singles, Jones bends down to grab his cash... allowing Godfather to come back and DDT him on the stage for the pin after 12:00 or so of very entertaining crap.

Five on Five Elimination Tag Match:
Sgt. Slaughter, Ken Shamrock, The Big Bossman, Tank Abbott, & "Z-Man" Tom Zenk vs. The Stud Stable (Robert Fuller, Buddy Rogers, "Dr. Death" Steve Williams, Terry Gordy, & 911) w/ Lady Blossom

911 is the first one gone, via Tank Abbott right hand at 4:03. Sarge and Fuller both get counted out while brawling into the crowd. So the captains are gone. 4-3 good guys. Donnybrook culminates in Lady Blossom stealing Bossman's nightstick, sliding it to Gordy for the KO on Tank, tying things up. Rogers and the MVC work over Zenk. Hot tag Bossman and Buddy eats the Bossman Slam. Shenanigans break up the pin, and the sequence ends up with a brawl on the floor, but Doc finds Fuller's cane left at ringside and breaks it over Bossman's head. Oklahoma Slam finishes just in case. 3-2 Stud Stable. Shamrock goes crazy on the floor, even shoving Lady Blossom down - momentarily displacing the top of her dress if you get the drift, nearly giving Madden a heart attack. Z-Man hits Rogers with the missile dropkick in the ring, but Gordy kills him dead with the DDT. Rogers drapes an arm over Zenk to get the pin, and Shamrock's in trouble with a 3-1 deficit. But the World's Most Dangerous Man rallies after an extended heat segment, eliminating Gordy with an anklelock out of nowhere. Rogers charges in and eats a hurricanrana. Doc steps in and Ken tells him to bring it, but that allows Rogers to clip his knee. Figure four, but Shamrock gets the ropes. Another try, and Shamrock cradles him for the pin to even it up!! Doc comes in and pounds Shamrock down. Some false finishes, and Williams wants the Oklahoma Slam, but Shamrock falls off the back, shoves Doc into the turnbuckle and rolls him up for the three count at 38:56!! Shamrock is your SOLE SURVIVOR!! That doesn't sit well with the heels, who immediately rush the ring and commence a 5 on 1 asskicking of Shamrock before Sarge and the Army come down and clear the ring.

OSW Championship, DQ Rule Waived:
Mr. Perfect vs. The Undertaker (if Perfect gets DQ'ed, he loses the title)

Taker chases while Perfect tries to outsmart him - story of the match. Perfect pulls Taker down off of Old School and looks for the Perfectplex, but Taker blocks and lifts him straight up into a Death Valley Driver. Perfect dodges the Dead Man clothesline, and Patrick gets bumped. Hennig calls in the backup, and sure enough, here come the Midnights, but UT disposes of them quickly, and Perfect sells a big boot to the floor. Then Taker GOES MEDIEVAL with the NO HANDS OVER THE TOP ROPE PLANCHA~! The heels are toast. Back in and it's the Last Ride for Perfect. Stan hops on the apron with a tag belt, but the Rock & Roll Express run in and break that up! Taker sees the belt, picks it up and chunks it... but referee Patrick sees a KO'ed Hennig and Taker tossing a foreign object and puts two and two together and CALLS FOR THE BELL?? Oh man, the crowd is PISSED, and unfortunately for Nick Patrick, so is Undertaker, who chokeslams Patrick straight to hell. Last Ride for Sweet Stan, and Last Ride for Beautiful Bobby. Before Hennig can scurry away like a cockroach, Taker grab him by the hair and tosses him over the top to the floor. And it's a TOMBSTONE THRU THE ANNOUNCE TABLE. It looks like a war zone as Taker does his thing as we fade out.
