Answer: Goldberg. I just caught this, and it's a bit of a head scratcher because Goldberg had been vehemently against returning to the WWE since he left in 2004. I thought he was content with his car shows and whatever other "acting" projects he was doing. It says that he never would have considered returning to the ring, but now that he has a son, he's open to coming back.

While he was never a work rate machine, I still think he has a name value that the WWE would want to keep the audience tuning in. He's a former champion and could be plugged right into the main event, and maybe Vince just may want him before Hogan got to talk to him.

This reeks of stunt booking to counter tna. As much as I don't care for Goldberg one way or the other, things are starting to heat up again.

Oh I agree wholeheartedly about it being purely stunt booking. He's pretty much the last big ticket free agent out there, unless you count Rock, Lesnar, etc, but they'll probably never come back. If Goldberg does indeed come back, he could step into major feuds if he's a face or heel.

Sorry to be a necroposting bastard but I haven't watched wrestling on a regular basis since 2002. I do read about it from time to time but to see Bill Goldberg possibly getting into the hall of fame makes me ill. Even a sham Hall of Fame. What a flash in the pan he was. To say he believed his own press a little too much would be a gross understatement.

He did have "it" though. The size, the presence, and the look. Problem was his professionalism. He had none and looks like he still hasn't "figured it out."

I'll admit I was a major mark for the guy (as well as WCW in general, at that time), but even I can admit this does not surprise me. I consider myself able-enough, though, to separate enjoyment of a character from dislike of him from a personal level. (Sort of like enjoying Tom Cruise's roles/movies while thinking he's a complete nutjob on the religious scale.)

If I didn't like that "Bullrun" show so much for what it actually was, I probably would've stopped watching after the first ep just because of his seeming assiness.
