Heavy Hitters is a book I would absolutely read. I put the team together based on how I thought the characters would interact with each other on and (especially) off the battlefield. I think it's a great mix of personalities that would make for a really funny, action-packed read.

To be honest, my real problem with Poker Night is I don't buy them playing poker together. Now if it would have been Bowling Night......

My problem with Poker Night is that it feels naked without The Thing or Wolverine. Nova I really don't feel fitting in there but its just lacking that center true cigar chomping, beer drinking, poker dude. Well, I mean Sandman... but its Sandman.

Still, I just don't like Heavy Hitters. Ares is a douche, Herc is a doof, and I can never get over the horse parody Thor I was SURE was a total joke for most of my comic reading adolescence and then one discovered wasn't and was shocked.

If you haven't read the Beta Ray Bill stuff (with the exception of Omega Flight, which never happened), you've done yourself a disservice. Simonson's BRB was some great storytelling, and the more recent Godhunter mini was pretty amazing.

I read some Beta Ray Bill eventually. I wasn't interested but I generally don't like Thor, god stuff, space stuff, or Simonson so... whatcha gonna do? Its just that I really can't get past my adolescent assumption. I opened a comic one day and saw this guy.



And said, "What the fuck? Is that a horse Thor? That's a joke, right? Some lame ass parody? Eh, fuck it. Don't like Thor anyway, that long haired, silly talking, lame-o."

Then somewhere along the line I found out he was actually a serious character and I had no idea how to take it. Somewhere along the line I read stuff and realized he wasn't terrible, but that adolescent opinion lingers.
