Joey Styles: Welcome to a quick recap of the first week of the CWF. This is the inaugural week for the CWF and wow, did a whole lot of situations develop. We had four matches and some interviews as well as some cunning camera work to see what goes on in the back of the CWF Arena!
First up was an interview in the ring with our Commissioner, Ric Flair. Ric stated that he was no longer on the active roster as he was retired but that he was going to take an active role in determining who could fill in for him and take the initiative to be the best performer in the CWF and then the 45 year old Flair ran down a list of some of our top performers. He was interrupted by Steve Corino, who asked why Flair hadn't mentioned his name when he was talking up the roster. The two men argued a bit and Steve Corino ended up blind siding The Commisioner with a super kick and laying him out. That's right, Steve Corino laid out Ric Flair!
In the back, Corino is interrupted by Desmond Wolfe, one of the many superstars here in the CWF and is warned that messing with Flair will end up costing him, as Wolfe himself was Flair's heir-apparent. Wolfe was handpicked by Flair over everyone in the wrestling world to take over and be the best performer that wrestling has to offer. Corino and Wolfe yell at each other and have to be seperated by security.
In the parking lot, the cameras follow Robert Roode as he awaits Cowboy James Storm's arrival. The camera pans over to Harley Race, who is on the phone and entering the CWF Arena. It's pretty apparent that he is talking to Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and telling him good luck in the announcing booth and that he will be ok on his own. Just as he hangs up, Gorgeous George enters into camera view and confronts Race. The talk is making Race a little uncomfortable, especially when George's protege, Orlando Jordan enters the room. Race clenches his fists when the talk gets really weird and Gorgeous George and Orlando Jordan leave. Race gets back on his phone and hits a speed dial button and tells the person on the other end that he's thought it over and would like his help after all. After a few seconds, Race's eyes grow big and says he's on his way and then leaves.
Hillbilly Jim is in his locker room as Jimmy Wang Yang enters and the two are belated to join up together. Yang mentions that he had to pull some strings to Commissioner Flair to get Hillbilly drafted and HBJ seems genuinely grateful. The two talk strategy as the cameraman is summoned out to the hall where Phineus I. Godwin and Henry O. Godwin are laid out on the ground, a lead pipe lays near them. Nobody saw the attack it seems, as the paramedics draw attention to the Godwins.
At the entrance ramp, Joey Styles introduces his announcing partner, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan to applause from the sold out crowd. They make their way down to the ring and are seated as the Steiner Brothers music hits and they enter the ring. After a brief promo proclaiming them to be the greatest tag team in wrestling history, the bell rings as their opponents, Ole Anderson and James J. Dillion make their way down the ramp to their music. A lengthy match showcasing both teams talents ensue. The Steiners get the win.
Post match, Dillion and Anderson get on the mic and have a "confession" to make. They have realized that the wrestling scene has seemed to pass them by and that they are primed for a new direction; to manage wrestlers. They are here to tell the guys in the back that their collective services are available to the highest bidder.
Mike Awesome is talking to Matt Morgan about starting up a tag team together. Both seem to be willing participants in the deal until they can't figure out a name. Awesome likes the name Awesome Blueprint but Morgan prefers Blueprint Awesomeness. As Wade Barrett walks by, he tells them that not only do both names suck, but they both suck as well. This, predictably, enrages both Awesome and Morgan and they attack Barrett. Unfortunately, Barrett reverses a Morgan whip and Awesome nearly decapitates Morgan. Soon enough, it's every man for himself as all three pummel each other for no apparent reason other than ego and loud mouths. Security, fresh off of investigating the Godwin predicament, break up the melee.
Back in the ring, Brutus Magnus makes his way down the ramp to his music and is followed a few moments later by Jimmy Wang Yang and Hillbilly Jim. The battle is a good one with Magnus getting the upper hand by nefarious means and winning. After the match, Yang and Hillbilly Jim are in the ring, going over what went wrong as Tajiri's music hits. He slinks into the ring and grabs a microphone. He speaks in Japanese to Yang and looks visibly upset. Yang responds in a quizzical manner. Tajiri again says something and Yang takes offense and the two attack each other. Security must be summoned again as HBJ can't separate the two.
We cut to the loading dock area at the CWF Arena and see Cowboy James Storm finally arrive. Robert Roode confronts him about what the plan is now that Wildcat Chris Harris has been confirmed as being a part of the CWF. After the conversation on the matter, they decide to grab a beer and discuss their gameplan, Storm obviously deciding to stay with a very unnerved Roode.
On their way through the back, the camera man picks up Brutus Magnus, fresh off of his big win in the locker room. Rob Terry enters with Fit Finlay. The three discuss things about their newly formed partnership and Finlay informs them he has some back ups on the way. They will be the best stable in the CWF and will let everyone know it.
Sonjay Dutt enters the ring to his music. Shortly thereafter, Orlando Jordan enters the ring accompanied by Gorgeous George. After a nice win by Jordan, George and Jordan cut a very weird promo saying how they will "eat up the competition" in the CWF. Very, very odd.
As Cowboy James Storm and Robert Roode are slowly drinking a few beers in the back (as they have just found out they are not booked tonight), Wildcat Chris Harris enters the locker room. They all talk things over as both Roode and Harris want to start back up their former tag teams with Storm: Beer Money and Americas Most Wanted, respectively. They all three come to an agreement of sorts. They are not ready to let everyone in on the developments as of yet.
It's main event time in the CWF Arena as Steve Corino comes out to his music and awaits his opponent. Sunrise plays and Ric Flair comes out. He stands on the entrance ramp and chastises Steve Corino for what he did earlier. Corino says all he wants is a match to prove that he's better than Flair. He knows it, he just wants to prove it. Not gonna happen, Flair says. But he has someone else he can wrestle. This man is Flair's friend from way back. "Meet my new enforcer", Flair says with his classic grin. "Harley Race!" Race comes down to the ring for his match against Corino. After a very competitive, back and forth match, Desmond Wolfe comes down to support Race as Flair had left when the match began. Wolfe inadvertantly causes Race the match when some unneeded and unnecessary help from Wolfe goes awry. Race is furious as Corino high tails it out of the ring and to the back. Race and Wolfe get in each others face as the camera fades to black.
