Shit, I forgot Dead Zone. The first few seasons were awesome, with lots of imaginatively done episodes and mysteries therein(example: Johnny was in an accident and needed a blood transfusion, and because the donation came from a mix of several different people, he gets visions of their lives for a period of time, and he sees that one of them gets injured or killed in somewhat through their eyes, and has to figure out not only who the donors are from the one town square, but who he saw get hurt and how).

There was a short lived TV show based on Animal House which really blew. Even Flounder couldn't save it.

MASH is and will always remain the best example of a TV show that transcended the movie. When you watch the show enough, the movie actors actually seem like the wrong fit, making you forget the movie came first.

Friday Night Lights the TV show is so far above and beyond the movie. I remember all the hype the movie got when it came out that it was one of the best sports movies ever and all that, bored me to tears. But the TV show, can't miss television. Some of the best characters, actors, and plots on tv right now.
