If you have a problem, and no one else can help, maybe you should call...
Leader: Jim Phelps.
After all that experience taking down would be dictators and other madmen, some mobsters and ruthless real estate moguls should be a piece of cake
The BA: Brock Samson. Don't make him mad
The Face Man: Rusty Ryan. One of the best thieves/con-men in the business.
Howlin Mad: River Tam. Pilot and loopy team member.
Reporter Chick: Who Helped the A-Team Out a Bit: Elena Fischer.
Mechanic/Armourer/Tinkerer: Whistler.
The Bauer Rangers
Leader: Jack Bauer- He went on the run at the end of the final episode of the series, but with no other life left, he's turned to vigilante justice, looking to do even a little bit of good in the world by eradicating the bad. The other members were either actively recruited or met by chance.
Bryan Mills- Tore half of Paris apart to rescue his daughter from sex-traffickers and understands Jack the most.
Punisher- Duh
Rorschach- Duh too.
Machete- too awesome to need a reason
Dexter- Got caught killing one of Jack's targets and is basically on the team in exchange for his secret being kept. His position in the police department is also usefull for turning up new directions to go.
Guardians of the Multiverse
Brought together by mysterious forces, the heroes of seperate dimensions band together to protect the whole of existence(s)
The Doctor*
James T. Kirk
Luke Skywalker
Green Lantern
Ace Rimmer (What a guy)
Aeryn Sun. Badass alien soldier chick. Even when pregnant.
As for my joke team...
The Gaygency
A detective agency/superhero team made up of well, you can guess.
Leader: Gay Perry. Not much of a field agent, since the sort of things the rest of the team go up against is a bit beyond him, but he's a great detective and runs a tight ship.
Batwoman
Willow Rosenberg
Apollo & Midnighter-married couple and Superman/Batman of the Wildstorm Universe, only way more violent.
Captain John Hart- ex timetravelling secret agent from the future and recovering drink, drugs, sex and murder addict in need of the money. Token non-Gay team member. Because he's bisexual. Well...Ominisexual actually.
*Whenever he gets brought up in other showdows, there's a bit of a resounding "Who?" from you guys, and you don't seem to get him, so rather than tell you go google him, here's instead a crash course.
The Doctor is the main character of the long running british science fiction show "Doctor Who". The programme began in 1963(yes, it pre-dates Star Trek!) and told the exploits of The Doctor, an alien from the planet Gallifrey, part of a people better known as The Timelords, who took it upon themselves to oversee Time itself. Having broken their law of non-interference, The Doctor fled Gallifrey with his granddaughter, using an old version of the Timelords' primary spaceship and time travel machine, the TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimensions In Space), and soon took up adventuring across time and space, saving worlds, galaxies and the universe countless times in the process. Being a Timelord, he also has the benefit of a much vaster lifespan, as well as the unique trait of Regeneration, which allows his species, on the point of death to recover from wounds and/or deage, but in the process his appearance totally changes and his personality undergoes a shift as well. He's still got all the memories of his previous incarnations and is the same guy, but also someone quite different each time. Current canonity has the regeneration limit of 12 times, meaning 13 lives, though the popularity of the show in the uk has meant there's an expectation to extend this somehow.
To date, he's been through 11 incarnations
and it's the most recent incarnation as played by Matt Smith I'm specifically using here, though as I've said, it's the same person throughout, so all knowledge and (non-physical) talents from them apply. At over 900 years of age, he's in possession of an immense amount of knowledge an as a Gallifreyan is innately much more intelligent than any human being. His scientific knowledge is vast, encompassing as forms of physics, mathematics, technical ability as well as a working knowledge of time travel and the probabilities involved in how his interference will change things. Ironically though, The Doctor does seem to have a more limited expertise in medicine.
While vulnerable to most conventional threats as humans, he is able to absorb and redirect various forms of energy(he once recharged his dead TARDIS with some of his own lifeforce) and certain types of radiation(took a massive dose from a hospital x-ray machine once, and shook it out of his systemm pretty easily later), and one other ability he has is a type of mind-meld, depicted similarly to the Vulcan type once, but also a more abrupt version was introduced recently:
He possesses one of the most versatile tools in the universe, the Sonic Screwdriver:
And his ship, the TARDIS, can travel instantly across time and space (and sometimes between universes), and even as a more archaic model, a highly advanced machine with nigh-impenetrable shielding. Oh, and it's bigger on the inside than the outside. TARDIS have a component called a Chameleon Circuit that changes the exterior to help it not stick out in it's surroundings so much, but in its first (on-screen) appearance, it got damaged somehow and it's been stuck in it's iconic form of a 1950s blue Police Box ever since, for the most part. While it usually travels instantaneously to it's destination, it can be used in a more manueverable way when necessary:
While he's mostly looking to just travel with his (many) companions and have a good time, hating violence, he keeps stumbling across grave threats and dangers that he has to take care of, and after so long he's become a legendary and resilient figure, not to mention the Last of the Timelords after a harrowing unseen war led to The Doctor having to turn on his corrupted people and trap them outside of regular spacetime.
When trouble does come, he can often fall back on his fearsome reputation
And failing that, he has the ability to back it up when pushed to it
So in conclusion:
