SMH: I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome the amazing MegaPowers Wrestling fans to Madison Square Garden, which will be our home base for our inaugural pay-per-view this week. I’ve assembled a roster of incredible talent—wrestling royalty, you might say—to face each other in innovative matches.

SMH: For example, I’ve put together professional wrestling’s first-ever division of three-man teams. A champion will be crowned in this division, but not this week.

SMH: I’ve also drafted an impressive roster of singles wrestlers, many of whom have never faced each other in the ring before. Fans, your dreams will come true as legends face legends in match after match. MegaPowers Wrestling has–

*Steph is cut off by Don Muraco’s music. Muraco makes his way to the ring, where he grabs a mic from a stagehand…

DM: You mentioned “wrestling royalty.” You mentioned “legends.” Clearly, you were talking about the first-ever King of the Ring, the Magnificent Don Muraco.

SMH: I’ll be honest, Don, you were on the list of guys I was talking about. But we have other legends. We have other Kings. In fact…

*Jim Duggan’s music hits, and Hacksaw heads to the ring. As he arrives, the music changes, and Mabel comes out, accompanied by his manager, Slick. Next out is Ken Shamrock, followed by Haku and Harley Race, who gets a massive ovation from the MSG crowd. As the crowd begins to calm down, waiting for the GM to make the announcement of a six-man tournament…

PA System: TIME TO PLAY THE GAME

*The crowd erupts again as a seventh King, Triple H, heads to the ring. He does the water-spitting bit and the flexing bit, and the crowd eats it up. Steph hands her husband the mic, and he raises it…but he’s interrupted before he can even begin—by Randy Savage’s music! Savage makes his way out, accompanied by Miss Elizabeth. He gets in the ring and goes nose-to-nose with Triple H. Steph takes the mic back…

SMH: MegaPowers Wrestling’s first-ever pay-per-view will be the Ultimate King of the Ring. These eight men will compete in a tournament to determine who the best man to ever wear the crown is.

*The Rock comes out from the back, makes his way to the ring, and mounts the ropes as the fans eat it up. After several minutes of “Rocky” chants, The Rock is able to quiet the crowd long enough to get a few words in…

TR: Finally, The Rock has come back. To Madison. Square. Garden.

*The crowd erupts again, and it’s another minute or so of “Rocky” chants before The Rock can continue…

TR: MegaPowers Wrestling, The Rock says this. The Rock is here for one reason and one reason only: to be the best performer this company has to offer. To be the legend among legends. To prove himself as the greatest this industry has ever seen.

*More cheering…

TR: Now, The Rock has faced a lot of the jabronis in the back before. Triple H. The Big Show. The FBI. Well, the FBI were around when The Rock was facing Triple H and Show, but let’s be honest, The Rock wasn’t stooping to their level.

*Predictably, the FBI’s theme music fires up, and Nunzio, Johnny “the Bull” Stamboli, and Chuck Palumbo head to the ring to confront The Rock…

Nunzio: So we’re not worth your time? We’re a joke to you? Maybe you won’t be laughing so hard with your teeth rammed down your throat.

TR: Easy there, little man. I have no interest in blowing your pal Chuck.

*Palumbo is shocked and embarrassed by that shot, so he charges The Rock, and the two of them trade punches for a few seconds before Nunzio and Stamboli jump in. The numbers game is too much for The Rock, and he goes down. The FBI lay into him with kicks until the Soul Patrol’s music plays, and Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas hit the ring. They clear the FBI out in short order and help The Rock to his feet. The Rock picks up a mic…

TR: You stupid pizans just made the biggest mistake of your lives. You were under The Rock’s radar. You were beneath The Rock. The Rock has never kicked your candy asses before because it wasn’t worth The Rock’s time. But now? Now you’re in for the ass-whooping of a lifetime. If you smell–



*None other than the Immortal Hulk Hogan interrupts The Rock and heads to the ring…

HH You know, Rocky, you talked about the guys in the back that you’ve faced in the past. You talked about the “King of Kings” Triple H. You talked about the seven foot, 500 pound Big Show. But you left one name off the list, brother. The biggest name in the history of this business.

TR: Shut your mouth, Hogan. You know Ric Flair doesn’t work here.

HH: Funny, brother. Real funny. Here’s the thing, Rocky: you managed to beat me at WrestleMania 18. I want a shot at redemption, brother.

TR: Maybe another time, Hogan. Looks to me like The Rock and the Soul Patrol are going to have their hands half full with the FBI.

HH: You want to bring the Soul Patrol along for the ride? That’s fine with the Hulkster, brother. I brought my own backup.

*With that, Nikolai Volkoff and “the Living Legend” Larry Zbyszko head to the ring and stand with Hogan.

HH: MegaPowers Wrestling wants to do three-man teams? I’ve got mine right here. Name the time and place, Rocky.

*The FBI gets back in the ring, and Nunzio addresses Hogan…

Nunzio: Mr. Hogan? Sir? It seems to me that there’s six of us and three of them. Maybe now would be a good time to kick their asses?

HH: I like the way you think, little dude.

*The FBI, Hogan, Zbyszko, and Volkoff surround The Rock and the Soul Patrol. They slowly advance, as usually happens in these scenarios. Suddenly, to the utter shock of all involved, MUSIC~!



*It’s the APA, Bradshaw and Farooq, and they’ve brought Butch Reed along, which makes this the Doom Agency! As Hogan and his cronies turn to look at the new arrivals, The Rock, Johnson, and Atlas go on the offensive. We’ve got Pier 6 Brawl action for a bit, with The Rock, Johnson, Atlas, the APA, and Reed eventually clearing the ring. Clearly, there’s just one last theme song to play…

SMH: Thank you. After a highly successful first show with the Ultimate King of the Ring, it’s time for MegaPowers Wrestling to crown some additional champions. Yes, “additional.” Not only did Trish Stratus win the MPW Women’s Title last week, but Harley Race became the Ultimate King of the Ring – a title that he will defend going forward.

SMH: Given their strong showings in their respective elimination tag matches at the Ultimate King of the Ring, the MPW Trios Titles will be awarded to the winner of a match between Doom Agency and Powers of Fear at MPW Night of Champions.

SMH: Both Freddie Blassie and Slick have lobbied to have The MPW Intercontinental Title awarded to a member of their stables. Instead of simply handing the title to someone, I’ve asked that each manger select a member of his stable to compete for the title. As such, we’ll see a match that pits Rick Martel against “the Living Legend” Larry Zbyszko for the Intercontinental Title.

SMH: Also, MPW Night of Champions will feature a Fatal Fourway match for the MPW Heavyweight Title. The participants: The Rock, Triple H, and The MegaPowers – Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan.

I: Since we’re the only two women in this company, odds are we’ll be facing each other for that title again.

TS: Either that or mixed tag matches, yeah.

I: I doubt it. That would be boring. Anyway, got any ideas for rematch stipulations? I’d like to do something women don’t traditionally do. You know, show everyone that women can compete in any kind of match.

TS: Good idea. What about a cage match? That could be fun.

I: I was thinking of a ladder match, actually. And since I’ve got the rematch clause, I think I should get to pick.

SMH: Ladies, ladies. This is silly. Why fight when we can compromise? Trish, you want a cage match. I like it. Ivory, you want a ladder match. I like that too. Quite frankly, I’m enjoying watching this street fight unfold, as well. So here’s what we’re going to do:

KHR: You don’t get to be a King without being the best. And you don’t get to be the Ultimate King without beating the best. In one night, I beat Haku, Ken Shamrock, and Randy Savage. Then I beat Shamrock again in a rematch. The Kings are dead. Long live the King.

*The crowd, which has been booing Race the entire time, gets even louder…

KHR: Jim Ross, get off your fat ass and get in the ring.

*JR, in his typical position at the MPW ringside announce table, hesitates…

KHR: Get in here now!

*JR realizes he has no choice, stands up, enters the ring, and approaches Race…

KHR: These people…my subjects…don’t seem to have very much respect for their King.

JR: No, they don’t.

KHR: And what about you, Ross? Do you respect your King?

JR: I respect God and the Sooners and the U.S. of A.

*The crowd goes wild, and Race is infuriated…

KHR: On your knees, Ross.

*Again, JR hesitates, so Race grabs him by the shoulder and forces him down…

KHR: Kiss my boots, peasant. Show all my subjects what it means to defy a King. That’s right, get down there. Start ki–



*Race drops the mic as he turns to face the ramp, and JR picks it up…

JR: Stone Cold! Stone Cold! Bah Gawd Stone Cold!

*Austin enters the ring, walks right past Race without so much as looking at him, and mounts the ropes. He throws up the double middle fingers, then dismounts and does the same routine on the other side of the ring. Once all four corners are covered, he looks at Race as if noticing him for the first time. He goes to the middle of the ring and takes the mic from JR, who heads back to the announce table…

SA If you think Harley Race is out here spouting nothing but BS, gimme a Hell Yeah.

Crowd: HELL YEAH

SA: If you think Stone Cold Steve Austin should shove that crown up Harley Race’s ass, gimme a Hell Yeah.

Crowd: HELL YEAH

SA: Race, the only reason you’re even wearing that crown right now is because Stone Cold wasn’t in MPW for the tournament. You and I both know you can’t beat me. Hell, everyone knows it. So here’s what’s gonna happen: we’re gonna have a match, and I’m gonna take that crown you like so much. And that’s the bottom line, cause Stone Cold said so.

*“Classy” Freddie Blassie enters and takes a seat…

CFB: You summoned me?

SMH: I did. I have a concern about one of your wrestlers.

CFB: Oh? Which one?

SMH: Steve Blackman.

CFB: I see. And the concern is?

SMH: The concern is that he lost a Loser Leaves Town Match to Mabel at Night of Champions.

CFB: I’d call that more a disappointment than a concern.

SMH: You’re not following. Blackman no longer works for MPW. He should not be in the locker room, yet I saw him there this morning.

CFB: I guess you and I view the Loser Leaves Town stipulation differently. Steve just got here this morning. After Night of Champions, he went home to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Now he’s back.

SMH: And?

CFB: He lost. He left town. He came back. I fail to see the problem.

SMH: A loophole. Well played, Mr. Blassie.
