We all enjoyed this one last time, who's up for another? Same basic rules apply:

Pick 10 actors or actresses, along with one Director and one Writer, and put them together for an idea that's been previously unfilmed.

If you want an individual for more than one role(Writer,director, actor) you must announce it AS YOU ARE PICKING Them. If you want them for 2 roles, you forefit your pick in the next round. If you want them for all 3 roles, you forefit your next two picks.

At the end of the draft, write up your pitches and I'll start the showdowns.

Who's in? And who has suggestions how to improve it? I remember towards the end of the original draft there was a suggestion to increase the number of participants, I might be open to that. And I'm still against adding a composer, but if the majority wants it, that's fine.

Sharky: TV shows are absolutely fair game. In the last draft, Habs did one based off the Rockford Files. And I was going to do one off Veronica Mars that turned into a half V Mars/Half original idea that was a mess all the way around.

Gator: No remakes/reboots. And I don't think anyone had trouble reaching 10 cast members, like I said, a few people were asking to expand the draft towards the end.

OK, so for example, a sequel to "The Princess Bride" is a no-go, but "ALF: The Movie" would be fair game, right?

Also, what about a spinoff from an existing movie/franchise? Sort of what they're planning with the Han Solo & Boba Fett movies.

Yes, you can do an adaptation of someone who's been in other movies, and yes you can do different storylines with characters who've already had their own movies.

That quote is from last year's rules.

So basically, sequels are fair game. Just no flat out re-castings of previously-made movies, right?

Can we do a min/max thing? Some movies/concepts are smaller casts and you might only need 8 main characters and drafting 10 would just be drafting 2 bit parts while some might need a bit larger cast of 12-15. Maybe a 10 round draft but do the add/drop after the draft like I did where you can add up to 5 people with no penalty.

Also, we're still drafting a writer, director, producer and stuff right? That's not part of the 10 or is it?

I don't mind the 5 person add drop idea, seems like a good way for some people to have a bigger cast without making those who want a smalller movie to reach through a 17 round draft. And yes, we're doing writer and director.

So it looks like this: 12 round draft: 10 actors, 1 writer, 1 director. After the draft, a 24 hour add drop period where you can add up to 5 additional actors if you want.

I guess I'm in. I haven't done one of these in awhile, but I honestly think sequels and adaptations are weak. Come up with an original idea for fucks sake.

"Oh, you're making a Back to the Future Pt. 4? I love that franchise!"

I saw in the last draft that there was some discussion on adding a composer or some musicial component.

As for modern composers, I can name all of one. Perhaps a Slot of a Composer/Musical act to provide the soundtrack for your movie?

I'm still kind of meh on this, but I'll leave it up for discussion, if the majority wants it then fine.

Maybe you could have one of the extra 5 slots as a wild card (makeup, composer, etc.).
