Thought I would take a look back at 2008 and see what happened.
February - took in my sister-in-law, her boyfriend, and two (eventually three) kids because they lost their apartment. They are family, and of course you do things for family, but it turned a home of three into a home of eight. A little crowded, but it hasn't all been bad.
April - turned 33, no big deal there really
May - Went to Pennsylvania to visit family. Saw my dad for the first time in seven years. Been working on mending that relationship (which, if you remember the post I had a month or so ago, there is still work to do). Got to drive through a snow storm in May coming back from PA, that was bizarre
June - Found out that my sister was pregnant, for the second time. She lost the baby last time shortly into her pregnancy. So far, it looks like everything is going well in this one. She is due sometime in January and the docs say the baby is healthy and all that. Let's hope
July - Got to take an awesome baseball trip, hitting the Hall of Fame and games at Fenway, Yankee Stadium and Philly. Probably the best trip I have taken, so much fun
August - Went to North Carolina to see my family, always a good time there. Nice to see my mom relatively healthy after quite a scare last summer. Got to catch up with an old friend again, so that was nice. Also met Pun and his family, had a great dinner, and watched the Cubs lose.
September - Got to see my favorite band ever (save your damn jokes) Helloween in Chicago (well, just outside Chicago). It was a great show, though from what I heard later, not their best because of some issues with the venue. Doesn't matter though, I had been waiting twenty years to see them, and I did, so it was all worth it. Sadly we didn't have time to go into Chicago, something I hope to fix this summer
October - became an uncle again, this time I got a niece to go with my nephews. Also celebrated 7 years of marriage to Flea. Also got to celebrate the Phillies winning the World Series, something I have only been waiting 27 years to do! (then I forget to mention it, I rule)
November - Back to North Carolina for a baby shower/early Thanksgiving dinner with my family. Lots of fun, saw my dad again. Fun and awkward at the same time! That's always a joy.
December - Got a long term sub assignment teaching Kindergarten. It has been tough, but it is a good learning experience and having a fairly steady paycheck is nice, especially at this time of the year
So, how was everyone else's year?
