Not sure if you want to be an official part of Pun's House? Post something here. You will probably get flamed, but it's all in good fun. If you like the responses, sign up and let everyone know you are here.
Thanks to Thai for the inspiration for this board.
The idea behind this is so that we can get to know each other better, while having some laughs in the process. Each week one lucky member of Pun's House gets featured in his/her own thread, which will start off with a few questions for the featured member. Once he/she answers those questions, the floor gets opened to the entire board for asking said member any question they wish to hear an answer about.
Ok folks, you demanded it...well, one of you did. Here's where you can talk smack about anyone you have smited (smitten? smote? eh, whatever). This is all in good fun, however, so please keep it somewhat respectable. If it gets out of hand...well...you don't want to know what will happen.
"Exalt!" The term is thrown around a lot over here at Pun's House. Maybe not as much as "Smite!", but you get the picture. This forum is for those random exalts you give someone when it's not obvious why you are exalting them.
Name: Scott username: snelson66 Nickname: Scoot Random Facts: am a Freemason and 1st Dan Black Belt in Haidong Gumdo
Text: I won't put down my cell phone number (as it's the only number I have) but if you want to text me, PM me and I'll provide it. That's the best way to reach me. Facebook: www.facebook.com/snelson66 (FB Messenger is probably the 2nd best way to get a hold of me)
Frankly, everything is "snelson66"... so if there's a system (email, messengers, etc.), that's probably my username. I don't use Yahoo! Messenger or AIM (frankly I cannot actually remember my AIM username as it's the first time I wasn't able to get snelson66). I think my ol' ICQ number is still valid, but does anyone even use that anymore?
Richard James Scaia Jr. died Sunday, July 16 at the age of 49 in Dayton after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born May 9, 1974 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He lived in Naperville, Illinois before putting down roots in Dayton.
Rick was a member of the Class of 1992 at Alter High School and graduated magna cum laude with a degree in business from the University of Dayton in 1996. He completed his MBA at UD in 1998. As an avid Flyer fan, he could frequently be seen both enjoying and lamenting basketball games at UD Arena. Particularly difficult was the 2020 season, when the Flyers were one of the top ranked teams in the country before COVID cancelled the NCAA tournament. In Rick's honor, we are declaring them 2020 NCAA Champions. Who can prove they wouldn't have won the tournament?
Rick was also a much respected and proudly despised professional wrestling analyst. On a thread about his website, Online Onslaught, users described him as their "1st wrestling news source" and "Ask The Rick smartened me up to a lot of stuff."
Many knew Rick as a member of local bands Factotum, BlueKid, The National Drink and Flight Risk.
Rick excelled at cooking, baking and informing people the dishes he made were scientifically proven to be delicious, even tweeting about how proud he was of his invention, "Chicken Erroneous."
In keeping with Rick's wishes, he will be cremated and shot into space, like Spock at the end of Star Trek II. An earthbound memorial in Dayton is pending.
He is preceded in death by his dad, Richard, survived by his mom, Linda, and brothers, Alan and Stephen.
I tried to make the final listing a nice balance between my own suggestions and Dev's suggestions, and kept few PH originals in there. Cut back a little on the number of ranks so it's not as bloated (we're at just 1 more than the original list had). Here it is:
Banned From Everywhere
Best in the World
Hall of Famer
Please Leave Your House
Oh I Have Wasted My Life
Gonna just sweep this back under the rug (About the Board) now...
Those two location ranks were also TNA based I believe.
That's correct. They (along with Impotent Warrior and President Obama of Head Trauma) were nicknames that Eric Bischoff had Mr. Anderson introduced by. I'm fine with omitting any location ranks, it was just the first thing that came to mind as a way to do some little self-referencing. I'm gonna post a brainstorming thread in Showdown Central and see if anybody else cares to jump in.
I almost put the bottom four boards (living room, den, guests services and flawedcast) in a Single board I was going to label "The Basement"
I liked this idea. Here's a rundown of what I changed. If anyone sees anything that should be different or moved elsewhere, let me know (or fix it yourself if you can and want to).
- The Living Room, The Den, Guest Services, and Flawedcast Network Discussion all combined into The Basement. - Flawedcast Network Discussion grouped and moved into Some Old Bullshit. - Everything in The Den moved into Some Old Bullshit. - The Living Room moved into Some Old Bullshit (I thought about leaving The Living Room on the main page to keep the possibility open that it could start getting some attention, but looking at the most recent posts in the categories there, I felt comfortable just shelving it). - "Wrestling and Sports Games" moved from The Living Room group. It's on its own in Some Old Bullshit now. - "Murgen Mat" and "Hall of Fame" moved into "About the Board". - "Staff Housing" moved from Guest Services into The Basement, so it's still viewable on the main page. - "Dead Pool" moved from "House of Stupid" into "Showdown Central" archive area. It's basically a draft, after all. - And the Some Old Bullshit title is an old Beastie Boys compilation album if you didn't pick up on the reference.
And not sure if anyone noticed already, but I swapped clock plugins. The old one displayed as a banner underneath the ad. The new one incorporates itself into the header at the top, right underneath the "Welcome / Login / Logout" spot. Much cleaner.
EDIT: Also tweaked the "Information & Statistics" area on the main page to utilize the space more. All the same info is there. Previous look was 3 rows, 2 columns, with 2 of the cells empty. New look is 2 rows, 2 columns, all cells utilized. I'm having too much fun with this. I promise I'm done now...
So, chat is broken, Wrestlemania weekend of all times. We've been making due with Facebook Messenger group chat for now. Right now it's titled "Punshouse Raw/Smackdown chat". We added whomever either asked us to be added or who we thought to add.
I figure it can just be permanent until 1. we get chat working or 2. Facebook gets shutdown by the feds (probably won't happen). If you don't want a million random notifications you can use the 'mute' feature or just leave the group and message someone to add you back in whenever.
OOWF, Moose has set up a special Wednesday night chat.
I don't usually post stuff like this on here, but since it's for a good cause, I figured, "what the hell". (And besides....it's my house!) On June 26th I’m taking part in the 2014 Asheville Executive Lock-Up benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association. My "bail" comes from donations from my friends and family, all of which go to help MDA. If you feel like donating a buck or two, please click this link. Thanks.
What a piece of shit this new format is. Every few weeks, something else shitty pops up. The latest thing is everytime my laptop goes stupid and freezes (its an older laptop) it logs me out of every place I'm "remembered". Well, I just tried to log in to punshouse and it goes through when I use my user name and password, but redirects me to the main page saying that I need to log in or register. If I put in the wrong user name or password, it says it's wrong. If I put in the correct user name and password, it keeps redirecting me to the main page where I'm not logged in. It's fine on the phone. My laptop is a piece of shit and this new direction pro boards has gone is a piece of shit.
And now I go to punshouse via my laptop and I get right on. Wbatever.
Another thing that bugs me is when I get on punshouse on the iphone, sometimes the font is blurry. Only happens on my phone and only happens here at punshouse.
Make sure you have your glasses on, it should correct the blurryness
For anyone who wants to access old Flawedcast episodes, I've added feed boxes on the left side of the main page. You can now access the last 5 episodes of any of the Flawedcast Network shows. If you don't have Facebook access, or just ignore Andy's ramblings, keep an eye on those boxes, because as soon as the new episode goes online, those will update.
Because the majority of us set our clocks back last night, remember that you will need to change your profile so it shows the correct time on the posts and on the board. Under the "Dates and Times" section of your profile, the last drop down menus says "Currently Observing DST:" Just select "No" and it will fix the time.
