Congrats Sharky, you did most of the work for our team, so you deserve most of the credit. This one was fun. I recommend teaming with Sharky in one of these to anyone, man's got a good mind for storytelling.
I am actually pretty surprised to not have the lead here, but I suppose it's a testament to different tastes in wrestling, given that the cards do emphasize different things. The MITB and Women's matches on DeadBunny's card are definitely fun, but the undercard is less my style (the Double Tables match and at-least-three-falls-worth-of-BLKOUT in particular) and more than two elimination matches makes shows drag for me--which is a particular-to-me taste, since people loved Old School Survivor Series.
I'll put our TLC match against any match on anyone's card this entire tournament (Leaving aside how well these teams work together, you have Benjamin, Daniels, Morrison, Ki, Haas...). That said, it's also certainly not a one-match card, when you've got Angle/Pillman, Cara/Ultimo, Kidd/KENTA submission, an awesome dream triple threat women's match...even Orton/Kingston brought the best out of those two the last time they began a (sadly-aborted) feud with a hardcore rules match.
Our card is definitely heavy on the formal wrestling and workrate, probably even including the TLC match. If that matches your tastes, throw a vote our way.
Welcome one and all to a preview of the next great Premiere League Wrestling pay-per-view, Rumble at the Rose Bowl! I am Byron Saxton, and I'll be trying to bring you up to speed on the latest happenings since our last PPV two months ago.
First of all, some newcomers to the roster. Former AWA World Tag Team champions, they are the only team to win the vaunted PWI Rookie of the Year award. They are eager to shake off the spoiled rich Beverly Brothers stigma and get back to kicking butt and winning titles, they are Wayne Bloom and Mike Enos - the Destruction Crew!
The third and final newcomer is one of the most underrated shooters ever. His match-ups with Verne Gagne and Nick Bockwinkel were legendary, and he can go hold-for-hold with absolutely anyone. His name is Billy Robinson.
All three are starting their PLW careers in the North American division. To balance out the tag divisions, the PLW championship committee has also moved the Dudebusters into the World division based on their recent strong outings.
Now... what else? THe Dynamite Kid snapped after losing at the last PPV, and we found out why. He wants the PLW World Heavyweight gold, pure and simple, and he thought he was wasting his time battling the Midnight Express with the man who holds that title. He wants a rematch with Edge... but will Edge give it to him?
Terry Funk is the Super P Cup champ - who will he make his first title defense against? And will the Dudley Boys go for tag gold now that Bully Ray is no longer that champion?
Dolph Zigger decisively put away Mike Rotunda - he's hungry for another title shot. So far Ted DiBiase has held onto the North American title by whatever means necessary... does he defend it against the Showoff?
I always loved Schiavone, especially paired with the brilliance of Heenan. Sure he would wildly exaggerate things, but I just see that as part of the business. Schiavone & Heenan (with Tenay as an infrequent technical 3rd) is my favorite announce team ever.
