So here's the situation, my friend Tim, Dev, and Scott have all been extended invites, but have not yet signed up. There is also the one open slot.

Tim Furguson, Mikey Watson, and my brother Kevin have all expressed interest in the league.

Basically, as I see it, there are 4 open spots and 6 people vying for them. Precedence will be given to those already extended invites. Then Tim Furguson because he posted here about it first. Then Mikey, then my brother.

Based on who backs out or who doesn't I'll fill the available spots accordingly.

In the event this starts up over the weekend, I'll send my Google Doc to Brad & Hodgey with my Top 24 picks ranked to at least carry things through 2 rounds.

If you guys fly through things and my Top 24 are exhausted, I'll trust them to make educated picks for me based on my needs and positional rankings. This will also hold true when I'm on vacation from 9/14 - 9/23.

Hey guys, just wanted to clarify something on the keeper aspect. If I understand it correctly, the rules now mean that [starting next year] you cannot use a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd round pick to preserve a keeper. Therefore, all players picked in the first five rounds this year cannot be kept next year. A sixth round pick this year is the earliest that could be kept next year, and a 2014 4th round pick would need to be used. Did I get that right?

You can keep anybody INTO the first 3 rounds, but once they reach the first 3 rounds in subsequent years, they are no longer eligible to be kept.

For example, a 4th-round pick this year can be kept as a 2nd-round pick next year but then would become ineligible for keeper status for the following year.

So how does it work if a player is drafted by one team then dropped and then picked up another, are they treated as untreated as a keeper?

No, dropped players still have the value of the original round drafted with regards to keeper rounds.

I'm trying to make a roster addition and it says we have a maximum goalie limit of 4. When was this discussed/decided on? If it's just an ESPN default, can we change it? And if we can, I'd like to make sure that my wanted addition of Ilya Bryzgalov and dropping of David Legwand can be pushed through by the commish.

I recall seeing a roster max of 4 as set by the commish, not ESPN. This was there since day 1.

Although there is technically a way around that. Sort of.

I don't have proof. If you look on the league in ESPN, under Settings, it shows a max of 4 Goalies. I can only tell you that I've known about a 4 goalie max since the start.

Did anyone actually pay for the league? I just checked LeagueSafe, the site we use for Baseball & Football and realized there is no Hockey league under my profile.
