JR: Jim Ross here for the launch of Power and Glory wrestling. A new federation that will deliver something we have never seen ever in professional wrestling. And with me for what is going to be an amazing ride as my broadcast partner is John Bradshaw Layfield, but like me, you can just call him JBL.
JBL: You’ve got that right JR. Wrestling fans usually fall in two categories. You’ve got those who like traditional mat based wrestling and those who love to see just two big guys slug it out. Power and Glory Wrestling is about delivering the best of both worlds.
JR: That’s right. In the Glory division you’ll see talent like Chris Jericho, Brian Pillman, Arn Anderson, William Regal and others wrestling a traditional mat based style. This division will also be complimented by several luchadores bringing a south of the border flavor.
JBL: Then you’ve got the Power division. These are my guys. We’ve got the Undertaker, we’ve got Bray Wyatt, we’ve got Bobby Lashley, we’ve got Brock Lesnar, we’ve got Mark Henry; I could go on all day. They’ll deliver what my broadcast colleague loves to call a ‘slobberknocker.’
JR: Our first show will feature a series of qualifying matches for title belts. There will be the Glory Title and Glory Tag Team Titles and the Power Title and Power Tag Team Titles. The men part of those tournaments will be announced as we go.
JBL: Another unique aspect of Power and Glory is the steps it will go to ensure fair matches. You’re not going to see people interfering from the outside. You’re not going to see guys winning by putting their feet on the ropes for a pin. If a referee is incapacitated, we’ve got someone ready to make that one-two-three count when needed.
JR: Power and Glory will use an outside ring enforcer to help limit interference and enforce the rules when maybe the referee can’t see something or unable to continue on. That man know a little bit about law and order. Let’s throw it to the back and hear from the Big Bossman.
BB: I’m the outside ring enforcer for Power and Glory wrestling. Want to run out and interfere in a match? Bam, that’s a billy club upside your head. Want to pull something out of your tights and knock an opponent out with it? Bam, that’s a billy club upside your head. Put your hands on a referee? Won’t bread a five count? Continue to beat a man up after a match is over? BAM! BAM! BAM! Billy clubs upside all your heads. You want to challenge the Big Bossman? Try it. I’m in charge of keeping order around these parts and anyone who doesn’t toe the line will serve hard time!
