RESULTS:
AWA Presents Rage In The Cage
Minneapolis, Minnesota
Steel Cage Match
The Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) & “Precious” Paul Ellering vs. The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy, & Buddy Jack Roberts)
In a bloody brawl that saw Paul Ellering stretchered out of the steel cage mid-match, The Road Warriors came out on top, and earned a world tag team championship match in the process.
Steel Cage Match
Nick Bockwinkel vs. Larry Zbyszko
The culmination of a feud several years old, Bockwinkel put Zbyszko to sleep. When Zbyszko came to, he reluctantly shook Bockwinkel's hand.
AWA World Heavyweight Championship
Stan Hanson © vs. Bad News Brown
A crazy brawl that had to be stopped when police got involved due to excessive fighting in the stands.
AWA World Tag Team Championship
Curt Hennig & Scott Hall © vs. Baron Von Raschke & The Crusher
In a shocking result, Hall and Hennig dropped the titles due to a miscommunication between them during the match.
Texas Death Match
Bruiser Brody vs. Big Van Vader
Texas Death Match rules applied as the 10-count was administered after a pinfall. The young Vader put on a valiant effort and won the fans over, but Brody would ultimately put him away after carving him up with razor blades hidden in his hand-tape.
AWA World Six Man Tag Team Championship Match
Larry Hennig, Ray Stevens & Verne Gagne © vs. Jimmy Garvin, Steve Regal, & Ken Patera
Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie would appear during the match, and would reveal himself as the manager for Garvin, Regal, and Patera, helping the trio win six-man tag team gold.
Top Contender Match
Dean Malenko vs. Bob Backlund
Malenko would defeat Backlund in a technical classic, presumably facing Martel in a future event.
Top Contender Match
Rick Martel vs. Matt Borne
Martel would prove his championship mettle with a hard fought win over the future Doink The Clown.
AWA World Television Championship – Special 15 Minute Time Limit
Tom Zenk © vs. Lex Luger
As you could imagine, the "special" time limit would expire and the match ended in a draw.
Developments
We will see you next time, when the AWA returns to the historic Cow Palace in San Francisco, California for WrestleRock 85!

Developments
- Due to the interference, a rematch was signed for the World Six-Man Tag Team Championships for WrestleRock. If the team of Hennig/Stevens/Gagne win, Verne Gagne will get 5-minutes in a steel cage with Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie at the end of the night.
- It was announced that the two top contender match winners, Rick Martel and Dean Malenko, would now be fighting for the AWA Americas Championship, which would also signify the top contender to the world championship.
- A rematch was signed for Zenk and Luger, this time with no time limit.
- Curt Hennig and Scott Hall vowed to get back to their winning ways, and declared that if they do not beat The Fabulous Freebirds at WrestleRock, they will split up and no longer team.
- Despite Bad News Brown campaigning for another title match, AWA officials decided that he and Hansen cannot be controlled. Thus, Bruiser Brody was awarded the next opportunity at the World Heavyweight Championship.
