Ultimate TV Sitcom Draft
Looking for eight to ten players to draft the ultimate television sitcom cast over the course of 12 rounds.
Cast lists must contain two parents and at least one child but no more than four. You also have eight ancillary slots for other cast members which can be other relatives, friends, co-workers, neighbors, etc. Parents can be a mom and dad, two moms or two dads. You do not have to fill all the children slots or ancillary slots if you don’t want to. So the minimum cast would be three and the maximum 12. There will be a 24-hour add/drop period starting at noon the day after the draft ends.
Each pick must contain the name of the character and the television show the character is from. Pictures are always nice to. Characters from movies, video games, books, etc., are eligible to be drafted. We are drafting fictional characters, not real people, therefore people from reality shows are not eligible.
We are drafting characters, not actors. Therefore, when you draft a character you get rights to all versions of that character from television as played by different actors and as they appear in different versions of the show. However, you may designate which actor/version of a character you are using as it fits your concept. For example, if you draft Batman you would have rights to all television versions of Batman such as from the live action Batman ’66 and Batman the Animated Series. You would not have rights to use Batman from any of the movies.
Any television show featuring fictional characters count. It does not have to be a character from a comedy. You can draft from dramas, sci-fi, horror, animated, etc. Once add/drop ends, you would have 24 hours to submit a final cast list designating your parent slots, kid slots and ancillary slots noting their general role (Sue Smith – maternal grandmother, Joe Johnson – dad’s boss). Also include a brief description explaining your concept. Everyone will go head-to-head with people allowed to vote for up to three shows. Voting will be open for five days. Most votes at end of that time wins.
If you have any questions, comments or clarifications; ask them below. Per the next showdown thread of people saying they’re in; we have eight. I’ll leave sign-ups open until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, to see if at least two more people want to jump in. After that I’ll post the draft order. Clocks will be the standard eight hours with suspension from midnight to 8 a.m. est and the first clock of the day expiring at noon. Clocks will start at 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30. Miss one and there is no penalty, miss two and you get cut to four hours, miss three and you go on auto-pick for remainder.
Also, if someone can make this a folder and pin it, I’d be appreciative.
