alright! finally!

the con was great! it was my most successful con to date. i was sharing my table with artist of IDW's "supermarket" (and DMZ #11) kristian donaldson, who is a college buddy of mine, and at the table next to us was another school friend of mine who came down to do the show. it was great getting to see both of them.

our location was excellent in artist alley. it was the exact opposite of the situation cory and i were in at baltimore. we were basically the first table you saw when entering artist alley, we had j. scott cambell right across from us and bill sienkiewicz right behind us. plus everyone loves kristian (including james o'barr, creator of the crow, who came over and gave kristian some pencil work he did to ink over. james o'barr is an awesome artist, but he's fucking weird).

i didn't sell nearly as many books at this show as we did at baltimore, but the prints were a big hit and i did a ton of sketches (as opposed to the only ONE i got to do at baltimore).

i got some cool requests for sketches. aside from swash-buckling nightcrawler and drunken batman, i also did a foghorn leghorn, and my very first sketch of the con was of one of those little muscle men guys they had back in the 80's, remember them? they were like an inch and a half tall and originally were all pink-ish (though eventually they stareted using other colors) and had all those crazy designs. well the guy plopped down a tub of muscle men on the table and said to pick one and do a sketch of that, and which ever one i picked i got to keep the figure. so that was awesome.

other sketches included superman, couple of pajama pants sketches, ms marvel, white queen, golden age flash, dr doom, lady death and a bunch more that i can't remember off the top of my head.

i've come to the conclusion all guy gardner fans are poor. just as the GG pic was the most complimented print on here, it was also the most complimented print by passers by. but i only sold 2 of the damn thing. i had this conversation about 100 times:

Convention Goer: HEY! guy gardner! awesome. definitely the best green lantern!

Me: yeah man! guy's the best! well, prints are only 5 bucks

CG: cool! yeah, guy gardner rules!

*walks away*

FUCK GUY GARDNER FANS!!

the captain america print did alright, but the big hit was, of course, perverted robin. everyone got a kick out of that one. and no one thought it was creepy, LUCKY!

over all i had a lot of fun, and cory and i are now a little bit closer to actually making a profit from our books.

of course. i'll do anything you want if you're paying for it ;D

and my buddy chad started a sketch for my book, but didn't have time to finish it. oh, and another guy with a table by me did a hulk wearing pajama pants
