There we go again. That would be opinion. See Sop, an opinion is your expressed feelings about something that may, or may not, reflect an ounce of truth depending on how well you can support your argument. Since your entire argument is based on "Boston Public is shit, and I know that because I watch a lot of shitty shows" it doesn't really hold up. Watching a lot of shitty shows just makes you a dumbass, not an expert on shit.

Now, if I were to say Sop is a douche, FACT. That would indeed be accurate because I could reference everything you have ever posted to back up my hypothesis.

I actually enjoyed Public a little. It was mostly over the top and stupid and Dev's intro that it was contrived to address the issues was pretty fair. But it had a solid cast and had some decent topics and amusing stuff. I'm also a teacher so there's probably that "I know where that comes from" thing. That being said I wasn't really a fan in general and I love Firefly.

But Dev, familiarity is a basic lure. Look, if Eco doesn't know either show and doesn't have any strong feelings about either, the one he basically recognizes logically wins. He's not going to vote for the show he never knew just because. And the longer running and more access means he had a better chance of seeing the show. He has a better chance of recognizing the actors. There's just more likelihood that there's SOMETHING that attracts him to the show. I love Firefly but if you never saw the thing what are you to do?

Plus, you know... subjectivity.

I was a fan of both shows, although not Firefly when it was on. Fox pulled the plug on it before I got the chance to watch it. I enjoyed BP, but there were a lot of times where I thought the show was dumb and would miss episodes and not care. Firefly, once I started watching the DVDs after watching Serenity, I couldn't stop watching. If you haven't seen it, it's a shame, becuase it had great writing, great characters, and most importantly to me, which many shows today lack (ie cop shows) it had great character development throughout the (relatively short) run. If you haven't watched Firefly, and therefor are not voting for it as a result, buy the DVD's. You won't be disappointed.
