After picking up a historic win on ECW’s 100th Episode, Colin Delaney will at long last sign a contract to become the Land of the Extreme’s newest Superstar on the next ECW on SciFi. The persistence and passion has finally paid off for Delaney whose dreams came true after defeating General Manager Armando Estrada. But will the youngster with a small stature, but a big heart, have what it takes to be a success in ECW? How will Delaney match up to his fellow Extreme Superstars? And what will Estrada have in store for Delaney?
ECW Champion Kane joined forces with CM Punk to defeat Chavo Guerrero & Bam Neely in tag team action. Mr. Money in the Bank delivered a devastating G.T.S. to Guerrero for the win as WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison looked on. The Big Red Machine and the Straightedge Superstar are an Extreme force when paired together – how will these two Superstars leave their mark in the Land of the Extreme? And when will Punk cash in his Money in the Bank privileges?
Kofi Kingston remains undefeated in ECW action after defeating Matt Striker on Tuesday as Shelton Benjamin offered guest commentary. But after defeating “Your Teacher," Benjamin stormed into the ring to attack Kingston, leaving him face-down on the mat. Has Kingston finally met his match? Will the “Gold Standard” be able to stop the Jamaican Superstar’s winning streak?
Finally, Mick Foley will also make his return to ECW and Matt Striker’s Classroom next week. What will transpire between the Hardcore Legend and “Your Teacher”? What does the SmackDown color commentator have in store for the Land of the Extreme?
To find out the answers to these questions and more, tune into Tuesday’s ECW on Sci Fi at 10/9 CT.

[SeamusMcNasty] And that is why I hate the Miz. He's got potential, but he just doesn't live up to it. Unlike Randy Orton, who has no potential and lives right up to that.
MHJ: "if it is kinky, depraved, erotic, or a fetish, you will find it"
Cyclops698 "I'm 100% committed to our fake marriage"
I find myself having a hard time concentrating on this. I will say Mike Adamle's got himself a new catchphrase "Have Mercy."
Match 1: CM Punk v. Miz: Winner Miz.
Match 2: Six Diva tag team: Michelle McCool/Cherry/Kelly Kelly v. Layla/Victoria/Natalya
Dammit, why is Natalya on ECW? Winner: Cherry pinned Victoria for the face-diva win.
Lena Yada talks to Shelton about ending Kofi's winning streak. Shelton says he's ending it, the next time he faces him. Which is right about now, as he turns to see Kofi standing right behind him. They pushy-shovy, and Kofi spears Shelton into a garage door. Shelton sounded like he had something wrong with his voice.
Match 3: Colin Delaney v. Mike Knox.
Oh for the love of Christ.
Colin gets all sorts of love from the crowd at least. Squash. Welcome to your ECW Contract. Winner: Mike Knox.
Armando Estrada and his abs come out to congratulate Colin on his first match, and says he has to face the newest roster member.... HIM! AAE boots him to the head, and insists the referee ring the bell to start the match. And Colin gets squashed for the second time in like 5 minutes.
Match 4: Kane v. Morrison
Miz came down with Morrison. Punk came down midway through. I smell tag team matches coming up! Towards the end, Miz tries to interfere, but Punk attacks him. They brawl on teh outside, until the ref kicks them both out. While he's dealing with them, Morrison hits Kane with the tag team belt. Ref turns back around, Morrison hits the pin. M&M commence the beatdown on Kane, Punk gets involved. M&M manage to dominate both of them. They roll out with their belts and we are out.

i should know this. i think there are actually plenty. i can only off the top of my head remember him against Khali and maybe Knox...and some other goon, too.
the fact i can't remember this should tell you how important i find it
as far as the main superstars though, i think the field of possibilities is wide open.

He fought Shelton in his first appearance, I think. Chavo beat him in the main event of some episode. Dreamer beat him when Estrada forced the match. He and Dreamer had a feud with Miz and Morrisson but I honestly don't remember if he fought either one-on-one (although I think he did). Kane was one of the original monsters in the "Poor Colin" days when Taz seemed to be setting him up.
But yeah, Kofi seems available. And CM Punk hasn't beat him up yet!
Or don't do either. If you can't find an image you like at either than don't force it. Just give me something you like and which will look good on the board.

Well it obvious to me that Colin is a tag-team specialist. Let's find Ricky Morton to be his tag partner, and the ECW tag team titles are there for the taking.
What? What do you mean ECW doesn't have tag team belts? Every major fed has tag team belts. Every MINOR wrestling fed has tag team belts. Miz and Morrison are champs, right? Smackdown, you say? Oh. ECW sucks.
Sting is the dumbest man in wrestling. That's a well established fact. I'd personally find it offensive and out of character if Sting didn't volunteer to do the stupid thing. --Lucky Lopez
You can not have two Ricky Mortons in one tag team. It violates the laws of physics. They can't both play FIP and there will be no one to come in all house-a-fire!
Besides, I don't see Colin in the tag division past working with Tommy to establish himself. No, Colin's destiny is clear, he is to take advantage of the ECW/SD! working agreement and revive the Cruiserweight division and championship. Looking to the past, he should start looking for the belt in random garbage cans around arenas.

I believe I prediced in my OOfficial recap that Colin would be tagging with Zach Gowan in obscurity somewhere within a short period of time. I suppose we could make the case that ECW = obscurity.

Its ok. The tag titles are being defended against the ECW Champ and the MitB winner thus insuring neother of them has a true rival, challenger, or story. So it more than evens off.
Or don't do either. If you can't find an image you like at either than don't force it. Just give me something you like and which will look good on the board.
Actually, if they won the titles, there would be an interesting subtext, where Punk could turn on Kane and demand his title shot at any time, even after a particularly grueling match, where Punk lets Kane do all the work.
In the matter of title shots I believe that the dumbest thing Sting has done has been putting up his title shot for no good reason. And since both RVD and Kennedy have put up their MitB shots that line's been crossed. So I don't believe there's really a valid Sting comparison here.
Sting stupidity tends to be a grade for trust of allies. So the more proper question would be:
"Does Murdoch not seeing that punch coming from Cade make him dumber than Sting?" "If Joe takes Nash back is he dumber than Sting?" "Does Christian and Rhino not seeing the Booker turn coming make them dumber than Sting?"
You may add to that last one "Especially since Sting implied he saw it coming a few weeks ago?"
Or don't do either. If you can't find an image you like at either than don't force it. Just give me something you like and which will look good on the board.
Well, I'm not sure it makes him dumber than RVD who bet the contract on an IC title shot. Just because he won it doesn't make it any less of a silly gamble. And of course Kennedy just put his contract up against Edge for nothing that I remember.
So while the ECW Title would be a CLEAR waste since its the 3rd best prize at best in WWE and one he could have had a title shot for anyway, I'm not sure it even makes him dumber than RVD and I'm pretty sure Kennedy holds the crown of those 3.
And actually, if they had Punk use it at Judgement Day in a heel turn after turning on Kane and pulling an Edge... it could work. A heel Punk telling us that he rather be a big fish in a small pond and basically imply to us that an easy ECW title win is better than battling it out with the HHH, Orton, Taker, Edge, and Cena's of the company... it COULD be a believable enough character move.
Of course a heel turn hasn't been set up, the ECW title is shit and would render Punk's MitB victory meaningless, ECW/SD/WWE is already very heel heavy and Punk is one of their top faces, and it basically makes Punk a coward who feels he can't play with the top guys, especially since he hasn't exactly had a winning record since WM.
Of course the dude is on a 2 match losing streak to Matt Hardy and Miz so maybe picking the ECW title is his right talent level.
Or don't do either. If you can't find an image you like at either than don't force it. Just give me something you like and which will look good on the board.
Ah, but you see, he never actually has to cash it in. If they were partners, it could always cause tension between them that he has the POTENTIAL to cash it in at any time. So therefore, it's either a slow-build storyline to a potential cash-in later on down the road, or it's character building for both Kane and Punk, who honestly, need all the story-driven character building they can get at this point.
ETA: See what it did for the Hardy/MVP feud. It put them on another level, and for a long time, was the only reason I ever tuned in to what happened on Smackdown. :-)
If I didn't know better, I'd say Edge would get the win at JD and Punk would cash the MitB in against him. But that's what I want to see, so you know it just won't happen.
But man, that would be an awesome feud. Edge, the Rated R Superstar, just ripping into Punk and his straight-edge would make for some great promos.
Last Edit: May 15, 2008 11:50:56 GMT -5 by Riot Act
True, but what that story did for MVP/Hardy is the opposite of what it did for the US Title. The title basically became dormant and valueless over that period of time since the man MVP was feuding with for the title wasn't actually getting any title shots. If Kane and Punk are teasing each other but never actually fighting it does potentially add to their characters but leaves the ECW title potentially dormant. And as much as the ECW title kind of sucks, at least its been better than the US and IC titles in recent memory.
Of course presuming that we don't care about the ECW title or that we feel we can handle double duty with stories like TNA does wherein the champ has his title feuds while teasing another story with potential long term implications... If Punk never actually cashes in the MitB against Kane it leaves the story unresolved. Which might not matter in the long run if it led to months of interesting work and character development, but still feels like a kind of crummy end to the story.
That being said I would not at all be shocked to see them win the titles this Sunday and for WWE to basically try to recreate the MVP/Hardy story, especially since they had done that right before with Cena/HBK. And at this stage Punk teasing Kane as his tag champ and building some character is a hell of a lot better than the whole lotta nothing he's been doing anyway. Not to mention the captivating Kane/Chavo feud and the prospects of the next Kane/ECW Heel feud being the same uninspired and generic feud the ECW title has had for 2 years.
Or don't do either. If you can't find an image you like at either than don't force it. Just give me something you like and which will look good on the board.
I can't see Edge doing anything, promowise, with Punk's Straight Edgeness that Raven hasn't already done. And if you're going to tread on the same ground as Raven did with promos, you'd better bring something awesome.
