PREVIEW FOR TONIGHT'S “iMPACT!” BROADCAST: QUALIFYING BEGINS FOR KING OF THE MOUNTAIN, ANGELINA LOVE VS. ODB, PLUS KAREN ANGLE WILL ANSWER KURT'S PLEA TO COME HOME

Tonight, TNA returns to SpikeTV for two hours of Total Nonstop Action as we continue the road to the June 8 “Slammiversary” Pay-Per-View event! The below is a preview of what will take place on the broadcast:







- This Thursday, Samoa Joe will officially name his picks for the King Of The Mountain qualifying matches. Cornette has already selected Robert Roode, James Storm, Tomko and Matt Morgan. The question is – who will Joe select?

- Plus, The King Of The Mountain qualifying matches will kick off on Thursday’s broadcast! Who will advance to face Samoa Joe for the World Championship at Slammiversary? Tune in this Thursday for the start of qualifying!

ALSO ON THIS THURSDAY’S BROADCAST:

- One-half of the TNA World Tag Team Champions, Homicide of the Latin American Xchange, will battle longtime nemesis Brother Ray of Team 3D. After what 3D did to Hector Guerrero this past Thursday, the LAX will be out for revenge.

- Will Karen Angle come back to her husband Kurt? We’ll get our answer this Thursday night as Karen has promised she will be in attendance to answer Kurt’s plea for her to come home.

- In addition, Angelina Love of “The Beautiful People” will take on ODB in Knockouts action!

- “iMPACT!” will also feature another installment of the interview with Sting, as well as a further update on the bizarre footage of Abyss!

I really quite liked the multi-man beatdown of AJ at the end. I hope they don't have Booker T win KotM just to be able to call him King Bookah or something as Joe should win this match cleanly and help cement his reign.

Overall, a pretty good Impact!, but one of you Indy guys, who was the lady who almost killed herself taking that Awesome Bomb when she took it on her neck and then proceeded to knee herself in her face.

That might have been the most predictable TNA show I've ever seen. From Nash getting snubbed to Booker qualifying to Karen getting pissed (Nice "expect the unexpected " line from Karen right before she did the expected) to Karen getting a quick to help Kurt to help at the end and then Kurt getting pissed and everything in between.

And I don't want to see Roode or Morgan in the KOTM match. Ugh. Although I can stomach Roode more.

Storm, Rhino, Cage and Tomko are left. Tomko won't because of a PPV match with AJ? I assume? Storm could face Morgan for some reason at the PPV, but I'd rather see Storm in the match and Rhino at home. Hopefully he'll be cheering the Pistons in the Finals around then.


Rhino, Morgan, Roode and Storm have no right to win the belt. Booker would just be another guy from WWE to hotshot the Title and piss off more TNA Loyalists. He hasn't earned it yet from his TNA resume. AJ would've been wierd since he's been stuck in the tag ranks for awhile and a feud with Tomko is looming to the point of inevitability. The same for Tomko, but with regards to AJ. So it's either Joe or Cage. Joe should win to cement the reign as dxb stated.

Anybody think Roode has a chance? Nice build on his resume, though.

No Rhino, Cage, Curryman, SCSB, Kaz, Steiner, Petey, Storm, Black Reign, Rellik, MCMG, Gail, only a promo with Letal/Dutt/Rock & Rave. What ever happened to Crystal? Some say she's pretty. New girl is generic.


Still a good show, though. Although too predictable and a total "set-up week".

Man, that was a fun show.

Roxxi kicked ass. When Rudy Charles saved Angelina from Roxxi's clippers of righteousness, I was all "Kick his ass!" But I didn't expect her to actually do it! Fuckin' A. That was the most justified violence toward an official, EVAR. Mind your own business, Rudy!

Booker's promo kicked ass. "Actually, that's my shirt."

Kong and Saeed should terrorize JB every week.

dxb: There's still a couple of weeks left for Booker to cut promos about having the most experience to be King of the Mountain, if that's the way they want to go with it. I'm confident that Joe will retain and all will remain right in the world.

Crowd-girl died good. That's how everybody should sell the Awesome Bomb from now on.


Creepy: Seriously? I mean, if you just mean that all of those developments were things we expected to happen sometime, sure. But, personally, I was very surprised that they pulled the trigger on so many of them all in one week.

Karen was telling JB to expect the unexpected. Karen not reconciling with Kurt may not have been unexpected to us, but JB's an idiot and that clearly wasn't what he was expecting. And, sure it would have been surprising if they had reconciled, but I don't think anyone actually wanted to see that.

I mean, when Tomko cost AJ the match, I thought that was it for the week, and AJ would cost Tomko his match next week, and the two of them would feud for a month or two while Angle does comedy bits trying to "prove he can change" while his neck heals.

Instead they skipped past all of that straight to the AJ/Angle feud. Was it surprising that Angle and AJ are feuding? No, we've all been calling for that feud for weeks. But I think it's plenty surprising that the storyline advanced so quickly. And a good surprise in this case.

Also, AJ died real good.

One of the most entertaining wrestling shows I've seen in a long, long time.

I honestly think my favourite part of the show may have been Frank Trigg and Kurt Angle as pee buddies with JB trying to interview them. "That's just JB being JB." It makes me sad that WCW had the guy for years and never used him on TV.

And a beat down where where no one made a save logically, since AJ was a heel as recently as last week and it was all his buddies whippin his ass. The only person who could have saved him was Super Eric, and he's in Memphis or some shit.

But see Bd, I think TNA misses a great opportunity to have someone else play Super Eric. Then we could have the Clark kent / Superman deal going on. It'd be neato in my mind...

Yeah, well. That might make for a neato storyline. But would it have added anything to the segment, or to AJ's story?

I mean, they wanted to do a vicious beatdown by a group of heels on one face, with nobody making a save, as wrestling shows often like to do, usually illogically. BD's whole point was that in this case they had sound excuses for why nobody helped AJ.

His only established allies were among the guys beating him down. The only guys who would save him just out of their love of justice--Super Eric and Sting--were established as being out of the building. Christian and Rhino might have gotten involved just to get some licks in on the Dudz, but I think they might have been out of the building, too. We didn't see them all night, anyhow. Besides, they both had grudge feuds with AJ awfully recently to be rescuing him. LAX of course wants to get their hands on Booker and the Dudz, but I suppose we can assume they were busy getting stitches or something. And Joe has reason to want to get some licks in on Book, but not if it helps AJ.

A lot of times they do a segment like this and all the fans are chanting for the guy they want to make the save, and you're left wondering, well where the hell was he? In this case, they weren't chanting for anybody, because there wasn't any obvious rescuer.

Yeah, I realize that Serg. I honestly think that was what made the beatdown even worse and dialbolical. AJ was being facey anyways but this 5 man beatdown just cements him as a face again no prob. I was just saying that they could do something interesting with someone else playing Super Eric everyone once in a while, but last nights AJ beat-a-thon wasn't the time to bring that element in.

That was the best ending to a wrestling show in Lord knows how long. It was so awesome and everything went perfectly. No stupid swerves, just pure wrestling entertainment. It was an old school, NWA late 80's beating in full effect and I appreciated it. I thought they could not top the episode when Angle and Roode are beating down Christian and AJ throws himself at one only for the other to continue. I love AJ. I can't remember the last time, a face was booked this well. I was swearing up a storm when Tomko cost him the match. I was jumping out of my seat when AJ was taking on all comers. Then I wanted to jump into my TV and swipe damn smirk off Tomko's face and rip Angle apart. I loved it. Just when I lost all hope in the wrestling industry's creative. TNA comes back and does this. I love AJ. I love Angle. I love wrestling.

Bravo, TNA, bravo.

From what I read (original spoilers, I think), she's not an Indy talent at all, but really WAS omeone from the crowd! Russo took it too far this time...

Either that, or she was some trainee from the Dudley's training school. I haven't seen it yet, does she look like anyone here...

I pray to God she is an Indy talent because she took that Awesome Bomb on her neck ONLY. But her being untrained would explain why she kneed herself in her face though....

No way in hell they pulled a real person from the crowd and had Kong throw her around like that. Whoever that girl was, I thought she was dead. Someone in chat saw the ref throw the dreaded "X," I had to rewind to confirm. They cut away from it way quick, maybe something did go wrong.

I don't know where they go with Kong from here. She's a monster, that's well established, and the only person that has come close to beating her (Gail) they just injured and put out for however long. They can't have her squash no-names or the rest of the KO division until they have her return better than ever to take the title. Roxxi is busy with the Beautiful People, now involving ODB, and I can't think of anyone else worth trying.

On Spin Cycle they teased Knockouts fighting men, but I really hope they don't go that route.

They could always pull out the old Dusty chestnut of suspending her for doing something so heelish that she is suspended say for 90 days. They have to find a way to get the belt of of her or ring in a monster face to beat her.

They have actually made her too strong in my opinion, or Cheerleader Mellissa is the NEW Gail Kim.

This may be the week that I've finally learned to love Karen Angle. Until this week, i've never really had a use for her, but the image of her trying to beg Kurt off while covered in AJ's blood was pretty wicked.

Also no MCMG makes me sad.
