Because Solly is too lazy to go to OO, here's my review from the thread there, edited for context:
Saw this [at an advance screening a couple weeks ago]. While flawed, overall I liked it. I’ll start with the negatives. The biggest problem for me with the film is that at 1 hour and 40 minutes, it feels too short for the story, and doesn’t really have a proper 2nd act, so the end comes a bit abruptly, and there was plenty they could have stuck in the middle(especially since the majority of the team get underserviced in favour of Stallone and Statham). I felt the same about the last RAMBO movie, which seemed to pile all it’s action into the latter half of the movie, so ends just when it seems to be getting started for me. 2/3 of the film, we get post-Bourne influences on the direction with the shaky cam and such, but for the most part nothing I can’t cope with. I can tell what’s going and who’s killing who and how and it all makes sense, just maybe a few moments with a lack of transition and overall they could have pulled back a little farther, but not The Bourne Epilepsy type stuff. The Li-Lundgren fight is the worst offender with regards to shaky cam when they go hand to hand. There's also some pretty cheap and obvious CGI, probably as a result of much of the budget going to the cast. HOWEVER, the climax and general last 30 minutes of the movie things are a lot more coherent and properly old-school and is my favourite part of the film, so it finishes strong and leaves it’s best till last. And earlier moments like the bit at the docks bit were pretty enjoyable.
The cast all do really well, even when they’ve got minimum screen-time. Stallone and Statham are a good believable buddy/mentor-student relationship and are very capable in the action scenes. It’s nice to see Li playing a not-so-inscrutable character and more of a regular guy with real concerns who also gets to kick ass. Couture has good presence and his character was amusing, Crews also was funny, and his big action moment was GREAT. Lundgren doesn’t quite play the character you’d think he does from the trailer, but I think for the better that he has some little nuances and sympathetic aspects. Eric Roberts was on slimy form and Stone Cold was a real menacing heavy. Daniels could have gotten more to do and I think he sounds way too much like your cliche british cockney henchman, but he’s part of a nice action set piece. David Zayas does alright as the villain general, but I think someone like Joaquim de Almeida would have been better and more convincing. Rourke’s scenes are good and he brings a bit more heart/depth to the proceedings and propels Stallone’s character forwards more. So it's not the big 80s comeback we were hoping, but it's a fun time at the cinema. If they do a sequel, work they should whole team into it more because when they’re showing working together at the end, it’s the best part.

Meh...was really bored with most of it. Too short, and for a "return to 80's" action movies, there isn't enough action. Some of the "acting" was so unintentionally bad that I think it had to be intentional.

The acting was awful. The stunts were comical. The plot was thin and had more holes than swiss cheese. It was awesome.

The scene in the Church was worth the price of admission all by itself. I nearly came. Also did anyone catch the fact that Coture was pretty much constantly busting off pro wrestling looking moves and SCSA was not? I thought that was kinda funny. Eric Roberts is pretty much the quintessential Action B-Movie bad guy. He rules. I'd watch him in anything. It was fun to see the Noguiera twins in there as well.

I'm kinda in the middle. I wasn't expecting anything other than action scenes and cheesy oneliners, and that's all it was. And the editing of the fight scenes made Seagal's action scenes look like Jackie fucking Chan. Jesus Christ, they coulda made me look like a badass.

And Mickey Rourke is so fucking cheesy. I figure it was Stallone giving him the dialog, but the story of the woman on the bridge was pricelessly retarded. As soon as he said "Then I heard the splash" I thought, now he's going to say how if he woulda saved her, he mighta been able to save his soul or whatever and then he says exactly what I thought he'd say. Just awful.

And why did they waste time on Statham with that chick? I woulda rather of had another action sequence or would have preferred they made the chase scene actually not terrible. We get it, he's a badass, we don't need even more confirmation. I figured this was going to lead into some fuck scene, but we didn't even get that.

I'm going to stop thinking about this movie because the more I think about it, the more I want my time and money back.
