In New England a milkshake contains no ice cream, just milk and flavored syrup. A "frappe" (pronounced frap) has ice cream, like milkshakes do in the rest of the US. An Awful Awful or Fribble (Friendly's version) is made with iced milk, and is very thick.

Peter King stirred the pot by saying he wouldn't vote for Warner for HOF even if the Cards win the SB. Prior to this season I could see it King's way, but MVP x 2 and SB MVP are hard to overlook. If Warner has a good game and his team wins he will make a very good case for himself.

Peter King's an ass. Kurt Warner's won as many Super Bowls as Brett Favre and has two MVPs. That, and he's led freakin' ARIZONA to the Super Bowl, and his story is inspirational as all hell. He won't have the career numbers as Peyton, Favre, or Brady, but he's left his mark on the game.

I got the same email many of you probably got about Warner meeting his wife and taking on her disabled kid. Gave me a reason to root for Arizona this year. Of course, I expect the New England Deathstar to be fully operational next year.

This was an absolute disgrace. First it was the Seahwawks & now the Cardinals.
Harrison was not in the end zone & he should have been kicked out of the fucking game for repeatedly punching the Cardinal player in the back.
They let the clock run to the 2 minute warning in the first half when the Cards had the ball, despite there being 5 seocnds left for them to run another play.
The roughing the passer call was absolute bullshit.
And then you don't review that last play? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME????

I got about 6 texts when Born to Run played, two from PHers. Whatever you think about the music, it was definitely the best presentation of a halftime in a looong time. By the way, the first song, 10th Avenue Freezeout, is definitely worth checking out on youtube (look for Live in NYC). He does that "stroke on a microphone thing" all the time with that song, too.
Oh yeah, there was a game, too. The roughing the passer call was absolutely terrible. I think Harrison was in on the touchdown, although the punching was very, very poor and he should have been tossed. Arizona played exceptional despite all the penalties and shouldn't have been in it.
TAMPA -- Quick-strike analysis of Super Bowl XLIII, won by the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-23.
-- Mr. Dependable: Santonio Holmes was there when Ben Roethlisberger needed him -- especially in the clutch. His game-winning touchdown reception, set up by a 40-yard grab, was the fuel for a drive that will live in Canton. Holmes finished with nine catches for 131 yards -- and was consistently there when the Steelers needed him.
-- Too many penalties: A team cannot commit as many penalties as the Cardinals (11) and expect to win the Super Bowl. Too many times they extended a Steelers drive or thwarted their own with a dumb mistake. On the Steelers' second field goal that gave them a 20-7 lead, the Cardinals committed three penalties for 35 yards a three first downs. Debate the flags if you must, but a Super Bowl champion can't make that many mistakes.
Oh, we will...
-- No protection: Kurt Warner did not have enough time to throw throughout the game.. Battered throughout the night by Steelers defenders, Warner simply lacked the time needed to find his receivers. The Steelers' pass rush, while not posting impressive sack numbers, consistently beat back the Cardinals' offensive line and forced Warner into throws that weren't his first option.
Yet warner threw for nearly 400 yds.
-- Big play momentum: The Cardinals never came back from the 100-yard James Harrison notched for the Steelers as time expired in the first half. Arizona had several chances to negate the score and either tackle or push Harrison out of bounds, but they couldn't prevent the momentum-changer. Despite their fourth-quarter rally, the Cardinals couldn't regroup totally. As the Cardinals searched for four more points at the game's end, they had to regret their failure to punch it in at the end of the first half.
Yet the Cardinals were leading with a minute to go.
-- Steelers' Super power: The lineage of five Super Bowl titles and the playoff experience of the current Pittsburgh squad proved too much for the Cardinals. No, Arizona wasn't overwhelmed by the spotlight as much as it was by the Steelers defense (especially early). But the confidence displayed by the Steelers, who played like they knew they'd win from the very start, could not be overcome. The franchise's sixth Super Bowl was well-earned and establishes a new record for NFL dominance.
