Whatever it is that you stand by is fucking retarded. Fucking Retarded.
Both of you guys hate KISS, too. The similarities are mounting.
Fucking Retarded.
Kiss is bad. And I single-handedly blame them for Slipknot and ICP.
But yeah, Thin Lizzy comes on and I change the station as quickly as possible.
Explain, Creepy, why I'm retarded on either count.
Which channel do you listen to? The only songs I ever hear on the radio are The Boys Are Back In Town, which I admit, has been over played to death and Jailbreak, which, honestly, I very rarely heard anywhere until it popped up on a few video games. Cowboy Song very rarely gets played here. I know you're in Boston and since Thin Lizzy is Irish, the classic rock stations probably play them a bit more than the stations here in Houston or back in Dallas do, because Boston isn't just proud of it's Irish roots, it has to hammer everyone over the fucking head with it. The rest of the country gets it, Boston is proud of it's Irishness. Awesome. I wish they'd get the fuck over themselves already.
That kinda went to far. But to say that they are, let me see,
a fucking abomination and horrible
Metallica warms up their soundchecks by playing some Lizzy tracks, amongst other bands and they have influenced a shit ton of acts from the Cult, Maiden, U2, the Pumpkins, Def Leppard, Guns 'n Roses, and most of the 90's alternative movement and countless others. I'm pretty sure the boys from AiC were influenced by them, too.
The dual lead guitars weren't as common back in the day for a rockin' band like TL, and their drummer, Brian Downey was very good, if not great. Lynott's lyrics ranged from romantic poetry to talk about the life of the downtrodden to beautiful odes to his family to loving tributes to his Irish heritage. The arrangements were often on a grander scale than a lot of his contemporaries at the time and his bass playing wasn't too shabby, either.
And when he collaborated with the great Gary Moore, it was often epic. I've mentioned it before, and I will again, the album Black Rose is kick ass from start to finish. Whether it be the opening anthem of Do Anything You Want To to the gang like mentality of Toughest Street in Town to a loving ballad for his newborn daughter in My Sarah, the album starts off brilliantly. The song Got To Give It Up is a rocker that oversees his will to give up the drinking and drugs that consumed him. Sadly, like in a lot of our musical friends, that will was overpowered, making this song a tragic prophesy. A song definitely worth listening to. Waiting on an Alibi, Get Out of Here, and S&M are some of the better "deep" tracks on any album I've heard and With Love is another steller song that shouldn't be ignored. And the album closing title track is what rock is all about. Moores' guitar arrangement coupled with Downeys' flawless drums and Lynotts' Irish History lyrics are epic. It's truly a killer song from every aspect and is most certainly not an abomination and/or horrible. The album might be my favorite of all time and this isn't even their most popular work.
That would be their Jailbreak album, which doesn't have a weak song on it, regardless if any of them have been overplayed or not. And Live and Dangerous has been regarded as one of, if not the, greatest live albums of all time. It's true. Don't scoff because you don't particularly care for it or turn the channel everytime you hear one of their songs. That's just ludicrous and far-fetching and I'd expect something like that from an asshole like Ryan, not an internet stud that I appreciate like you, Tommy.
