EDIT: In seriousness I have a selfish request. I'm out of town that week of the deadline. I get back into town late on the 24th/early on the 25th. So any chance we can extend the deadline if only for a day? I can obviously set my keepers on the 19th before I leave but I'd prefer not to do it a week before the deadline with no way to change anything. I mean, the odds of the landscape changing significantly in that week may be slim but I'd still prefer to be able to double check it even if that's just Friday evening.

But a purely selfish request and if it can't be met I'll just put my list in on the 19th, do my best to find a computer or watch ESPN in the hotel that week, and maybe ask Mike for his number so I can text a change if necessary.

Also, did I miss why the deadline is so early? Is being before the draft necessary? Just asking because for some reason that link you posted is coming up with nothing for me and I can't seem to find rules/guidelines/explanations.

I had a great time in this league last year and I'm definitely looking forward to this upcoming season. I would like to throw out my $0.02 on a couple things:

- Last year I bitched about QB scoring being out of whack with the rest of the positions. I was definitely wrong in how off I thought it was. However, it does seem to be a touch high, just not nearly has bad as I thought it was. WRs seem to be a little under scored, but again, no nearly as bad as I thought it was when I was whining about it last season.

What I would like to see is just a more simplified scoring system. I feel like ours is a little complicated - with points for completions and rushing attempts and what have you. I'd like to see something a little more standard as the tried and true method mostly works pretty well for fantasy football, I think.

I think if we went a little more standard, maybe with some bonuses for big games (100 yard rushing, 300 passing, etc) that might be fun.

- I also wouldn't mind seeing a flex position replace one of the WR positions. Maybe WR/TE or a WR/RB (or even a true Superflex position of QB/WR/RB/TE would be cool).

- I'd personally like it if we didn't play week 17 and started the playoffs a week earlier, but that's just a personal preference.

- Also, it would be cool if we can find a website that could do divisions for us. I know everyone had a bad experience with ESPN a season ago. I commished a league using ESPN last year and it was mostly awesome, whatever that's worth (which I only bring up because ESPN is one website that offers divisions, I don't really care which website we use). Divisions are fun for the rivalry aspect of it and it would be cool if we could have them.

Regardless, I had a great time last year and can't wait to avenge my championship game loss to Dev!

Late getting back to this - been sick/tired the last week or so and not really in the mood to process information that requires thought behind it.

As for the keeper deadline, why I made it BEFORE the draft, I'm not quite sure. At the time it just felt right. Would probably be more fair to announce AFTER the draft when a few more uncertainties are taken out of the equation. Free agency will pick up after that, so we'll bump keepers back until June 1. I have everyone's prelim lists but teams are free to adjust until then. Then C&B Free Agency will begin, which like Lucky did with the baseball league, I will eliminate after this season.

As far as Grover's points issue: I have no problem at ALL taking away the attempts and completions ticky tack points, as well as eliminating Week 17 from the equation. Also will look into a different host next year. I'm sure we can find something, cause I'm a sucker for divisions, too. Not sure about the flex positions, but we can put it to a vote.

So, long story short:
* Keeper deadline extended
* No Week 17 next season
* Flex position will be up for vote
* Scoring will be up for vote
* Will check into some more sites next season

I think you need a Minnesota expansion team (which will move in eight years to Dallas or LA).

You know, the more I think about it the more I just don't know that I'm into this. I tried last season but I blanked out for weeks at a time, pretty much relied upon what websites told me, and ended up with a complete shit keeper selection. And I'm no more prepared now to evaluate keepers, free agents, or the draft than I was last season.

So if someone wants in I think I'm pretty ok with giving up my spot. Doesn't look like we're ever gonna get our full circle fantasy sports franchises idea going anyway.

NOTE: If noone wants my spot, that's cool. I'll still play. I enjoy the taunting if nothing else. But if someone wants in who can (a) be a better player and (b) get some real joy from it then I'm happy to save a couple of bucks and free up some time and headaches during the season.

I've never done football on ESPN, but if they have free live stats and it checks out as being good to use from a playability standpoint then I'd be all for moving there.

I say ax the flex position. And I can't exactly remember the scoring right now.

I don't even remember having a flex position, but have never been keen on that because there is usually some advantage per position, so the flex isn't really a flex. As for any scoring change, we better settle on it before the draft starts. Scoring changes almost always affects draft status in football.

I've used ESPN the past 2 years and it's been pretty great. Fairly reliable live scoring, nice options for roster setup, nice scoring options and it's free. Plus, you can do divisions and stuff like that.

Personally, I feel like it's better then Yahoo, but I get why some people like Yahoo better.

With the flex position, I like the superflex. I get if people are more traditional. I think it helps give people lots of options with their starting lineup, spurs trade activity and makes things more fun.

QB's were the main topic of concern regarding scoring. Primarily the 4 pt vs. 6 pt TD. Personally, I like the six point TD because it's consistent across the board. And I don't think it skews scores that bad.

If everyone's down with ESPN, we can go that route. I just remember having problems with it two years ago. But I've played their baseball league now for two years with little problem... so it's up to y'all. Free live scoring would be nice.
