For the record the Round Robin isn't my idea. That's how TNA decided the first X Division Champion way back in 2002 with AJ, Lynn, Ki, and Psicosis. I thought it was a cool idea, a great match, and it sold me on TNA and the X Division as well as made me a mark for AJ and Ki. So I remain really disappointed that 7 years later I've only seen the match type once.

Weird matches like that I dug always stick in my mind. Sometime during the Attitude Era WWE did a 6 way match with a man in each corner and 2 in the ring with their midcards like Edge, Gangrel, and Val and I really dug it and was always sad they didn't make it more regular. And I'm crazy to like a wacky idea that "tarnishes" world titles but HBK & Diesel (?) vs Owen & Yokozuna for the World, IC, and Tag Titles was a cool idea I dug and remember right up to TNA doing Angle & Joe vs The Dudleyz with the World, X, and Tag titles on the line.

Almost the exact same thing happened at Backlash 2001 with the Two-Man Power Trip (Austin/HHH) v. Brothers of Destruction (Taker/Kane), except only the singles belt of the guy pinned could switch.

Ok, I'm not going to fancy anything up because I have neither the time nor inclination. Hopefully I get those things later. For now a quick rundown.

This is a preliminary card and I'm hoping to advance. If I don't, ah well. I probably would have lost next round anyway. This card was clearly thrown together to feature matches I'd like seeing but are very random.

At the top is the obvious Raven/Dreamer story in their natural setting. Raven has his mentor the Sheik with him to cause untold violence while Dreamer has Sheik's long time rival in BoBo. Dreamer has Kingston because I like the idea between the two of them. For those of you who don't know Kingston is a current wrestler who wrestles very similarly to Dreamer and would have fit in the old ECW with his mix of violence and ability. Like Dreamer he's from Yonkers and has a very "blue collar" feel to him. He's also a great talker and a psychopath but I think he just fits very naturally as Dreamer's protege of sorts, and the rub is that anyone who knows him will just be waiting for his mind to crack and turn on Dreamer. And then Raven's got Slash because... I was busy during the free agent period. And Slash can hold his own in the style.

The Big Man thing is totally tossed together and I have no defense. Its 5 big dudes I think could work well together and I didn't know what to do with them... and Bill Dundee. Because, again, thrown together and I figured it might be amusing to see him in that Napoleon Complex role.

The Round Robin is just 4 great wrestlers busting their asses against each other. And the match idea seemed better than a 4 man tournament especially since it guarantees they all work together as there's not a single matchup between them I don't want to see.

And the tag tournament is what it is. I love tag teams and I love tournaments and it was a simple throw together. I have 9 teams because, again, I was busy during the free agent period so I just threw the 3 weakest in a 3 way that they should be able to open up the show reasonable well with. There's some comedy, some flipping, some good wrestling. An opener.

I like the two teams Sunny has. Kenny and Kenny are two talented youngsters who mesh well in real life while Monty and Sonny are two guys I think I would have liked to see together as there's a surprising number of similarities between them. Both wrestle the "WWE style" pretty well, both can talk well but in a weird sort of way that makes you wonder if they're crazy, both seemed like stars in the making in TNA before toiling a bit and then departing for WWE, both toiled more in WWE before leaving the business for personal and tragic reasons. I just like the pairing. And yes, Sunny has a stable with Sonny, Kenny, Kenny, and Monty. I'm silly.

Jado/Gedo vs Briscoes is a match I'd love to see and anyone who knows me knows that the Wrecking Crew and Briscoes will be facing off in the finals in a match I'd pay the full price of admission for. And if I get the advancement and the inkling that's a story I can imagine telling.

Val and Tornado are just a pairing that makes sense to me and along with 2 Cold and Kelly seems like a natural crowd pleasing act. Like 3LK or Too Cool only not sucky.

Its thrown together. I don't expect to advance and I don't know that I deserve to. For what its worth here's the loose booking plans for the big show.

- Raven vs Dreamer continues, of course. I've already mentioned it but War Games is the end game. Sheik and BoBo fit naturally. Kingston will be involved but whether he'll stick with Dreamer or grow tired of Dreamer's losing and fan ass kissing remains a question. Abyss will probably find his way in but like Kingston could be on either side. The final 4 slots belong to the Andersons naturally since its their match and the DarkBreed. Natural lackies of Raven and guys the Andersons will clash with in the tag division and grow quickly tired of. Hallowicked is also a long time rival of Kingston's.

- Sunny's group and Kelly's group are rivals. I like the notion that Sunny would despise Kelly for being a bubble headed blonde idiot who was useless. If I was one to do the roleplays Serg loves there would have been lots of "I was the Original Diva" and "This is what passes for a Diva now." Kelly's group just likes to have fun but they can wrestle. Sunny's group are a bunch of talented and cocky studs. I like it on paper.

Things people don't like-- We don't know who will be Ventura's opponent, and it could easily be somebody who sucks. In fact, none of the options seemed exciting until the last-minute substitution of Steamboat. Steamboat/Ventura sounds like a cool main event, but we STILL don't know if that's going to be it. More results please.

Also, Patterson and Jannetty seemed wasted--guys people actually like who were eliminated first round in favor of guys nobody gives a damn about.

Also, you could have set up the tournament brackets to avoid a boring, plodding, heatless monster heel v. monster heel match, but you didn't.

Voted for you, but you are up against no card at all with Punker.

Personally I don't care for the gimmicky Chamber match when the 6 guys in there would have done a lot more for me spread out a little across the card. And while I don't have any HUGE reservations about Jesse's odd placement on the card I do get thrown by it FOLLOWING an Elimination Chamber. The tournament's very meh too but that's probably largely thanks to my age and complete apathy towards 80s midcarders. Steamboat's really the only guy in that tournament I care about and his 2nd Rd matchup might be the only one I care to watch. I'm sure I'd feel a little different if the guys I was most familiar with weren't Lance Cade, Sim Snuka, Viscera, and Khali, but overall its a very 80s WWF midcard. And while that's in no way surprising from Fish its not my thing.

Still, I'm holding out for punker because on paper his roster appeals to me more.

Fishy, I don't mean to be harsh.

I dislike the Elimination Chamber NOT being the main event. A gimmick like that should usually be a main event.

I dislike the tournament set up. That's a lot of matches. And a lot of matches featuring a lot of guys that I don't really like, such as Viscera, Khali, etc. I hate that Marty jobbed in the first round - I think a Steamboat-Jannetty match would have been really good. Maybe not as a final, but at some point past the first round.

If you aren't going to use Orton at all, then trade him to me. I'm sure we could work out a deal.

Jesse Ventura wrestling was YEARS before I was even born, let alone me being a wrestling fan. And I'm not a fan of the ice cream guys either. I guess I fall somewhere in between those guys.

All in all, I didn't mean to come off as harsh as I did. I'm just not a fan of a lot of your guys. I like Steamboat, Orton, Marty, and Tito Santana. That's about it. Throw in the other stuff I mentioned, and there is a real possibility I would have voted for Punkers card. I'm voting for yours because you posted your card and put time and effort into it and you had a nice swerve. Your card probably appeals a lot of people here. I'm just not one of them. Sorry.

I just wanted to pop in here and apologize to all. Had some bad family stuff happen a couple days ago that's put a lot of work/stress on my plate. I've only been playing online late at night really, and just haven't had the mindset to think about putting a card together yet.

I just didn't want everyone to think I was being a dick by drafting and then not actually participating in the game. Again, really sorry to all.
