I thought it was a good movie. Not great, but good. In the entirety of Nolan's works, I would actually put it as my second-least favorite (which really says a lot about how much I love Nolan), ahead of "Insomnia".
The final 30-45mins were fantastic, but the buildup to it was a bit disjointed. And I really wish Nolan would have cut things off with an "Inception ending" of Alfred at the cafe, looking up, then cutting to black.
I did really enjoy it, I don't want that point to be lost. But for comparison, I thought "The Avengers" and "The Amazing Spider-Man" were better focused movies, while "The Dark Knight" had better moments.
I was telling Andy this weekend, that if Nolan wanted to do just one more, I would love to see Blake as Nightwing. He could be doing fine for years, but some new baddy comes along and he goes to Bruce for help. Having Batman "return", though, would probably be too much like this movie.
I think at the very least we would get Nolan producing it, if not directing. He's producing Man Of Steel, so I don't see that as being too far-fetched of an idea. Three "Nightwing" movies with the feel of these 3 Batman ones would work just fine for me.
Well, it wouldn't have to be Nightwing, really. He could just take over as the new Batman (I believe this happened in the comics, but I don't follow DC as much so I may be off) which would probably make more sense. And it would be kinda nice to see a Batman other than Bruce Wayne on the big screen. Definitely something new that hasn't been done.
