TNA barred its guys from going to the HOF Ceremony because they were afraid that WWE would put them on screen and use it to put TNA down or draw talk. So you know, what they clearly were capable of doing. I imagine that's more "awareness of how scummy this business is" than irony. But WWE apparently has barred all TNA talent from any WM festivities anyway for fear of them trying something. Word was a bunch of them had to convince security they weren't threats and just wanted to say hi to friends last night.
It was a scummy move from TNA. If WWE fires him over it or even looks down on him they're scummy. Wrestling is scummy. That's not me excusing TNA, its just me saying I expect nothing more from anyone in that business.
Exalt for Lucky for reminding me that wrestling is a shitbird industry.
It's just too bad that people in this industry can't act like adults sometimes. From what I read most of the guys in TNA were showing up because they are Flair marks. But I guess if they were lying to fuck with WWE instead of seeing friends then they are to blame as well.
Can't we all just get along?
It would amuse me if next year Byrne did a women's fed or Texas fed. I'd just like to see how he tries to make it a dark, demonic, ECW homage led by James Mitchell or Raven. -- Lucky, 2009
see. i told you byrne was the way to go here. like i said, he's a big dork. -- Ziggy, 2009
I'm sure they did just legitimately want to see Flair inducted and say hi to friends and innocent stuff. Its just the shitty business. When WWE knows its 100% capable of sending its wrestlers to a WCW event and disrupting things to make for a publicity stunt and something to use on TV then they know TNA is just as capable of it so they put security on alert and bar them. TNA knows its 100% capable of taken advantage of a WWE guy just wanting to be a fan and a regular guy by getting him on camera and getting people talking and saying "See? WWE guys watch TNA." then they know WWE is capable of it to and bar their guys from giving them the chance.
Yeah, they're all stupid children. But its basically something you almost can't avoid. I mean, lets pretend TNA took the high ground and never showed the Highlander and just wants its guys to enjoy themselves on their free time. They still can't trust that WWE won't do exactly what they did on Impact because its been done before and Vince and WWE have played dirty tactics plenty of times. So even if you're one of the good guys you have to protect yourself from the bad guys or the chance of them being bad guys. And once you go there it becomes easier to convince yourself its just part of the game.
Because hey. ECW spit on the NWA and fucked them, they constantly called out and mocked WWF and WCW and did whatever they could to get people talking. WWF did silly parodies, made clear references, put HHH over the ECW champ, sent DX to Nitro, publicly embarrassed Public Enemy for no damn reason, and plenty of other stuff. WCW read results on air, dumped a WWE belt in the trash and supposedly planned to do the same with the ECW title, once suggested that WWF had shut the power off of Nitro, and who knows what else. So why wouldn't TNA do the VKM thing, burn the "real" ECW title on air upon ECW's restart, or put Robbie on air? They rationalize it as part of the business.
When the standards by which everyone handles themselves are so low, what's actually "wrong" anyway?
Or don't do either. If you can't find an image you like at either than don't force it. Just give me something you like and which will look good on the board.

Which is exactly the sad fucking state of affairs our world is in. People try to be good, and the scumbags and villianous fuck everything thing up and the "good" feel they have stoop down to fight them.
Fuck this, I'm going to Mars... and bed.
