I'll play. But I'd like to say that I despise the 12 hour clock.

BUT if you're going to go with that, then the penalty rules need to be changed to be more harsher upon the second missed clock... like, equal to missing three clocks in the previous drafts, since 8+8+8 = 12+12. Seriously, if you miss an entire day worth of picking and can't even bother to leave a list with anybody, then fuck you.

Gator, I think I'm going to piss you off, but it's one person per pick. You want a whole band.. that's 4-5 picks you have to use.

I'm leaning toward trying out a version of Dev's proposal and letting everyone take 8 guys after the draft as free agents. to be picked up in Add/Drop. It wouldn't be a requirement, just an option.

I think for now we'll leave the arena round separate.

Arenas should be picked during the draft.
Having bands is dumb, but making each band member worth one pick s even dumber.
Yeah, 1 missed 12 hour clock should equal you busted down to an 8 hour clock, 2 misses move you to a 4 hour clock and if you miss three clocks, you're on autoskip. Don't be an inconsiderate dick.

Sharky, doesn't piss me off in the least. Just wanted to get things cleared up now before it leads to scrambling and delays in Round 35.

I really really REALLY want the "Arena Round" included within the confines of the main draft. There has been a lot of support for it, so why the opposition, Sharky? As has been mentioned the last few weeks on Monday Night Flaw, the local crowds can really help make or break the perceived excitement of a show.

Nobody teams up for anything else and I just think you want to play, then play. Don't know why people strarted teaming up out of the blue. Two heads are better than one when coming up with good ideas or shooting down dumb ones and it just seems to put teamed people at an advantage. And since we're having 12 hour clocks, there's no reason somebody can't check in once a day or at least leave a shortlist if they know they'll be gone all day.

Basically, shit or get off the pot. But, whatever. If they're allowed, then they're allowed.

So the current plan is to take only the winners of the 4 Round Robin groups to a head-to-head final four. Howabout taking the top 2 from each group for a final 8, instead?

If we really wanted to get crazy, you could have the top 2 from each group move on and create 2 more "intermediate" 4-person Round Robin groups before the head-to-head Final Four.

Yeah. I like Gator's principle, but I wouldn't like making more than five cards. (Though with the final eight--were you just suggesting an eight-way vote at the end?)

That's precisely it. 3 cards Minimum, 5 Maximum. Going to 8 would add another round/card to the tourney, and it is my experience that the interest wains once folks are eliminated so I want it to be short and sweet. I even toyed with the idea of a 4-way, one round final, but decided to keep all the matchups one on one.

As far as who moves forward in the RR portion, I can see 1 major "complication". The possible outcomes without ties are as follows:

3-0,2-1,1-2,0-3

2-1,2-1,1-2,1-2

2-1, 2-1,2-1,0-3

It is clear who would move on in the first scenario. I would assume the head-to-head results would determine who moves forward in the second scenario.

But what about the one where there are 3 people with 2-1 records? Would we go by "total votes" across the 3 rounds? Or would we defer to Nate to pick among the 3 Feds as a whole based on all 3 cards?

Just wanting to throw this out there before it becomes an issue.

That is the plan. Head to head to break ties. a 3-way tie, total votes breaks the tie, or at least eliminates someone and then we're back to head to head.
