I have a small proposal to make...

We had 5 new drafters this time around (out of 16, that's 31%) and it made the draft harder to predict and a lot of fun.

So I am proposing we do a second Wrestling Draft after this one is over. However, there would be a twist!

This one would be much smaller:
- 8 feds with a College World Series style double elimination showdown (everyone gets 2 cards at minimum)
- 20 wrestler roster spots
- 1 figure head (picked in the opening round)
- 1 arena (picked in the final round)
- You can reuse your showdown card, so you are not required to make more than one

Here's the kicker:
- Card must have, and can only have, 6 matches

Does it stifle creativity? Or does it force different creativity?

The choice is yours. If we get 8 people, we're doing it. If not, we don't.

Probably not in, but a word of advice.. We ran a Double Elimination bracket a couple years ago, and the possibility exists for someone to have to do like 7 or 8 Cards if they were to run the losers bracket all the way up. Plus you have to have rounds where the winners bracket is idle, and interest tends to wain. Someone, I think it was Creepy, actually won a matchup, then decided to bow out because he was tired of making cards.

That's why I did this.

Plus the College World Series (the model for this) is in 2 groups, which cuts down on the # of match-ups at least a little. It'll be modified a little to avoid repetition. The winner would have been in 6 match-ups, and can reuse cards.

You draft a roster, but once the draft is over we randomly swap rosters and you have to book your card(s) off of someone else's roster.

I'm more interested by that. Although the devil in me would want to draft a bunch of jobbers and weirdos to see what someone would do with it.

But, likewise, if I got a bunch of lucha guys or Japanese guys, I'd be screwed, because I really don't know them very well.

To bad noone has website skills. You can make it like deal or deal, when its your turn you log in, pick a briefcase and what ever name is there is on your roster.

Seriously, though, we've normally drafted the wrestler, not the gimmick. I assume that would carry over to this.

Like Deadly said, you'd be drafting Barry Darsow. Whoever gets your fed can use him as Barry Darsow, Tsar Mongo, Blacktop Bully, Crusher Darsow, Krusher Khruschev, Pain Stewart, or Repo Man.
