If anyone had to actually read the Scarlet Letter, you'd probably expect it to be boring. Van Helsing was more dissappointing.

So, expectedly boring or dissappointingly bad? I gotta go with dissappointingly bad on this one.

Couldn't you just as easily argue that anyone who saw that movie poster and realized Hugh Jackman was in it should expect it to suck?

I'm torn. Van Helsing is BAD. But Scarlet Letter is too. I'd lean towards Van Helsing but there's thing hanging over my decision.

Looking over his movie roles, I only liked The Prestige.

You comic books geeks like the X-Men movies?

They're alright. I don't love them. Some do. I think Jackman's ok enough in it but his performance is very overrated and he gets way too much screen time. There also appears to be some sort of exercise in finding different ways to get his shirt off. The Wolverine movie will likely suck horseshit and outside of the X-Men I've never seen him do anything that wasn't horrible. I've never seen the Prestige.

The Prestige is awesome. One of my favorite movies of the last few years. But this is one of those instances where even the Hot Chick factor shouldn't come into play. I love Beckinsale as much as anyone, but Van Helsing is the biggest flaming pile of dog shit I've ever laid my eyes on. They fucked up one of the biggest mythos in the history of fiction and film. It's Van Helsing vs. Dracula and company with a great supporting array of characters and it's pure crap. DIE JACKMAN, DIE WHOEVER MADE THIS MOVIE.

Just jump in front of a fucking bus and die.

I'm voting Scarlet Letter out of complete bitterness toward the ending, but Van Helsing should win.

I'm voting Scarlet Letter. That whole movie was pretty much on tap and it was ok until that fucking ending. How the hell do you change the entire ending of one of the most classic books of all time?

Scarlett Letter. The makers of that flick counted on the notion that Americans are retards and had never read the book, hoping for a box office smash.

Damn, that reminds me that I should have nominated "I, Robot", even though I never saw it.

The only way I might not have voted for Van Helsing would be if it had come up against The Day After Tomorrow. Or House of the Dead. That would be like my three-way tie of suck.
