No it won't.

I remember watching it one night with some friends. Then I decided I didn't want to watch the Shining and went to sleep.

Somehow, in the back of my mind, I think it scared the crap out of me though.

I will get around to seeing Devil Rejects. Probably as soon as this October when I usually go on a Horror renting spree. But sadly I have not seen it yet. I actually only watched Shining for the first time a two years ago. I did enjoy it. Enough to watch it again a few days later with my wife.

The Shining, by itself, is a great movie. Is the book better? Sure, but that is not what is at debate here. Is the Shining a better movie than The Devil's Rejects? Yes

Moose, if I've read the book first, I can't completely disregard it when watching the movie. It's impossible. I'm ok with creative liberty. I know you can't fit everything in. I do have a problem with taking a book, tearing it to pieces, and then attempting to frankenstein it back together into something you think will be a better story. Kubrick took a great story and destroyed it to make the movie he wanted. Stephen King himself supposedly hates that movie. You know what it has in common with the book? A hotel, and a guy who goes crazy. I don't think it's a good movie, and I liked The Devil's Rejects a lot.
