I agree that more and more you're hearing sports fans seem to not appreciate ANY sporting events. It seems like if you don't have a Hall of Famer commanding the game or your team isn't in it people shit on the championship. I found the ALCS and the NLCS both VERY compelling. Even though the ALCS was so one sided in the end result the A's were in every game but 1 right to the end. A/Twins went much the same way. But everyone shit all over this year's playoffs because it was lesser teams and non-stars doing it.

But this was a pretty damn bad World Series. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. I'm not as ready to declare the Cardinals the "worst World Series winner in _____" as so many are but that was a pretty horrible WS. The only think keeping me from declaring it worst is that 2000 was pretty bad by my memory and last year's didn't leave much of a mark on my memory. Actually, quite a few of the Yankees' WS wins were probably crappy once I divorce myself from being a fan. Nevertheless, the Tigers played like absolute shit and might as well have handed the WS to the Cards. Not to degrade the Cards who had a very good run there to remind some that they aren't THAT bad. Ace, a couple of vet starters, the best player in the game sorrounded by some veteran bats, and a stud closer.
