Simulcast on the OSR page and the PWA draft page...
G-B: Ladies and gentlemen, we are pleased to welcome each of you to this extraordinary event. As you know, every press event held by Old School Revolution is truly that, an event. And today promises to be no different. In the ring with me at this time is "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson. Mr. Danielson is one of the most sought after wrestlers in the world. Just last month, he wrestled for Rong of Honor, Pro Wrestling NOAH, the WWE, AAA, and numerous other promotions in North America and worldwide. Since the day he was drafted by OSR, he has been the subject of draft offers from other promoters. But at Old School Revolution, we do not draft without a plan. And from day one, before the first pick was ever made, there was a plan for Bryan Danielson.
That plan has, unfortunately, become the source of much frustration for Bryan. Bryan's actions regarding his pending opponent, while unorthodox, prove the level of a competitor Bryan is. I believe that by the end of this press event, Bryan's aggression will have some direction, and we will see a very different "American Dragon" going forward.
Bryan Danielson: With all due respect Mr. Dash B, I understand I've been brought out here to find out the identity of my next opponent. So, Mr. Dash B...
G-B: We're almost there Bryan, but we at Old School Revolution understand the magnitude of this moment, and plan to take full advantage of it. You see, the Revolution is about creating new stars. That's why I promised to make Bryan Danielson a household name by the end of Revolution One: "Shattered". The stipulation of the match, "Submit, Surrender, or Survive" perfectly encompasses the skills of both competitors. Wrestling fans, you all have come to tonight's free event expecting to be blown away, which you have come to expect from OSR. And once again, we will deliver.
Because at Shattered, in a "Submit, Surrender, or Survive" match, it will be "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson going one on one with one fo the most decorated combatants in the world. This man is a multimedia superstar, a cross promotional genius, and one of the characters that ushered in the Mixed Martial Arts craze in America. In the wrestling world, he has served as a referee in 2005 for TNA's Hard Justice and Bound for Glory events. In the world of MMA, he is a former UFC Light Heavyweight champion.
With the next pick in the PWA draft, the Old School Revolution is proud to welcome...
"The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" Tito Ortiz
Public Enemy's "Fight the Power" pumps through the United Center, and Tito Ortiz and Bryan Danielson stand in the ring.
Bryan Danielson: [smirking] I hope you're ready. [extends hand]
Tito Ortiz: [shakes Dragon's hand] I know I'm ready, are you?
Bryan Danielson: [still smirking] You don't think I'm ready?
Dragon takes a forearm swing at Ortiz, who ducks and attempts to kick Dragon's legs out from under him. Dragon catches the leg, spins Ortiz around, graps his arms from behind and twists him down for the Cattle Mutiliation. Ortiz continually turns out of it, end eventually leaves the ring. Ortiz's posse stands in front of him as he barely backs down the aisle. Dragon threatens to slingshot to the top rope and dive at him, and Tito yells that Dragon won't do it. Dragon does it. And he lands on Ortiz and his crew on the floor. Security immediately rushes in to prevent injury to either competitor, and the lasting image at the end press event is Ortiz and Danielson facing off in the aisle, being held apart by security.
