I'm pretty sure it's easier to stay out of Hazard County for your whole life than it is to stay out of the ocean. Kraken > Hogg.

And seriously, Hogg is a slow, fat white dude decked out head-to-toe in white. How many other counties in America would really fear him? Most of Mississippi, I'm sure, but that's nowhere near the size of even the Indian Ocean.

its not about fearing Boss Hogg's appearance, its his power and money. We all know that money moves the world, and Hogg had it. Plus, his two biggest adversaries were one fuck up away from going back to prison, then he would rule completely uncontested. Who would challenge him? Cooter? He had a business to run, he couldn't challenge Hogg any more than he did otherwise Hogg could put him out of business and that would be the end of him. Daisy? While I am not diminishing the power of a woman, her only visible means of support was being a waitress at an establishment owned by Hogg! If she challenged him, she would lose her income and be in the same boat as Cooter, sucking on the teat of Boss Hogg's generosity, which seems to have dried up years ago. Uncle Jesse, while wise, is old. Chances are, he lives off the system at least somewhat, pension perhaps, but his main source of income was.......moonshine. If he really challenged Hogg's authority, Uncle Jesse could easily wind up in jail along side the Duke Boys. So who does that leave to challenge Hogg? The impostor Duke "cousins"? They would be found dead in a ditch in no time.

As for the Kraken, Sperm whales (Solly's favorite) eat giant squid. And really, is that is all a Kraken is, a giant squid. So all it takes is a couple of Sperm whales and the Kraken is eliminated. Never mind if there are any giant great whites circling around. Boss Hogg still wins this

the Kraken is a lot bigger than either Duke boy. The Kraken does not drive an orange car with a rebel flag on it, and the Kraken is not proficient with bow and arrow.

And beside, the Kraken's size is probably overrated. It comes from legends from Norway and Iceland. The biggest animals they have are probably cows or something, so seeing a giant squid would be OH MY GOD FUCKING HUGE!
