Directed by Alfred Hitchcock Written by Agatha Christie Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Bradley Cooper, Elizabeth Banks, Cillian Murphy, Gene Hackman, David Bowie, Wilt Chamberlain, Truman Capote, with Dennis Hopper and Robert DeNiro.
In this riveting Hitchcock-directed, Christie-written classic, four professional friends (DiCaprio, Cooper, Murphy, Banks) who meet on a weekly basis to discuss all things local and wordly, are interupted at their normal bar on evening by a highly eccentric man (Hopper) who rants on anything or anyone that they question him about. Pretty soon, any famous person the eccdentric man mentions unexpectantly dies in an unusual manner. The friends at first think that it is all a coincidence until too many odd deaths occur. Was the eccentric man a seer, coincidental, or is this all part of a major conspiracy? Meanwhile, there is a love triangle concerning Dicaprio and Cooper with Banks and a snooping private eye in Hackman. Chamberlain, Capote, Bowie and DeNiro play themselves.
Is it so hard to imagine? Is it so hard to believe? Something so outrageous, something so far-fetched, well how 'bout Adam and Eve?
(First off, I know this might sound a bit like the Eastwood movie The Dead Pool. It's not. This'll be good in a Hitchcockian way and not a straight up money grab.)
Insider info to help set the tone of the film:
The movie will start with the four friends meeting outside of the bar or possibly a quick opening scene setting things up at around a finished dinner table. The four friends arrive at the bar where most of their meetings (as a group) take place. Think wooden styled bar out of Rounders or something. The bartender would be played by a name actor, but since I didn't draft one for this part, I guess I shouldn't say anybody in particular (I don't have anybody in particular to be honest, but it would be a minor part). He lets the four friends know of the eccentric man sitting in their usual spot and they try to get him to leave.
The scene with Hopper would be a classic Hitchcock scene centered around the five people for about 7-8 minutes with Hopper acting very, well, strange. Some places mentioned happened to have some minor terrorism/natural disasters thoughout the course of the movie that would be questionable. Of the many people mentioned, only about 8 or so die (to set up if it is all a coincidence or if bad things would seemingly go on till everyone dies. Celebrities not drafted would be mentioned here on out as DEAD CELEBRITY.)
The first few death scenes would be super quick and involve some real famous people playing themselves in quick cuts. What actually happened would be mentioned by the four friends or news articles someone is reading or a newscast announcer.
Examples: -A camera shot zooms down from above that shows a car upended in a ditch with the guardrail on the curve above ripped open. You only see the scene for about 2 seconds before the next scene and all you can make out is the road, ripped guardrail, trees, burning overturned car, and DEAD CELEBRITY. -The face of a DEAD CELEBRITY would be shown, bleeding from the nose, on a bathroom floor for about a second. -The face of a DEAD CELEBRITY is shown in a close up (living). As the camera pans out, the DEAD CELEBRITY jumps to his death from a high rise building. -Climbing a mountain, a DEAD CELEBRITY has slipped and is seen dead on a cliff on the mountainside.
There would be a few more during the movie and have quick cuts so basically muted cameos. Once the four friends figure that a coincidence, conspiracy or other is happening, they try to get a hold of some of the remaining celebrities. Chamberlain, Capote and Bowie play themselves and die after they either ignore the warnings or happen to not be cautious enough. DeNiro is the first to be warned and joins the four friends to find out what's actually going on.
Hackman plays a man trying to find the Eccentric Man (I've decided to just call Hopper The Eccentric Man) and gets intangled with the four friends as he wonders why the Eccentric Man told these friends about what is going on and trys to investigate the group. And as Cooper and DiCaprio both woo Banks, questions arise if this leads to anything in their findings.
