I do apologize for not getting this up sooner, good luck and congratulations to our two finalists.
Y The Last Man
When a plague sweeps the earth killing all males, Yorrick Brown (Jared Padalecki) and his helper monkey Ampersand (CGI, played by Andy Serkins) find themselves the last two males on the planet. When his mother Congresswoman Jennifer Brown (Candace Burgen) discovers this, she assigns spy Agent 355 (Rachel True) to accompany him as a bodyguard on a mission to find Dr. Allison Mann (Ming-Na Wen) and her controversial cloning experiments. All Yorrick wants is to find his missing girlfriend Beth Deville (Amy Smart). Along the way they are pursued by Israel special ops agent Alter Tse’elon (Tilda Swinton) who sees Yorrick as a threat to this new female society. They also encounter trouble from pop star turned Yakuza leader Ephiany (Selena Gomez) and Yorrick’s own troubled sister Hero Brown (Hillary Swank). All Yorrick wants is to find Beth, and all Agent 355 wants is to complete her mission, but when a chance encounter with another Beth (Emma Bell) leaves her pregnant with Yorrick’s child, everything is thrown for a loop.
Directed by Robert Rodriguez
Written by Brian K Vaughan and adapted from his graphic novel series
Heroes For Hire
Danny Rand (Daniel Craig) aka Iron Fist, Luke Cage(Michael Clark Duncan), Misty Knight (Stacey Dash), and Colleen Wing (Lucy Liu) run a detective agency that specializes in superhuman cases. Rand and Knight are also involved in an intimate relationship.
Parker Robbins aka The Hood (Josh Holloway) has designs on running the entirety of the criminal activity in New York City. He has recruited Madame Masque (Monica Belluci), Davos (Bruce Lee)aka the Steel Serpent, Moonstone (Sarah Michelle Gellar), and the Purple Man (David Duchovny) to his cause, forming a group known as The Cabal. The Hood and Madame Masque are also involved in an intimate relationship.
Purple Man gains control of Wing’s mind, forcing her to feed The Hood info regarding Heroes for Hire investigations, allowing the Cabal to evade capture and eventually leading to the Cabal setting a trap for the Heroes.
There are several minor fight scenes, including Cage vs. Moonstone, Knight vs. Masque, and Iron Fist vs. Steel Serpent.
In the climactic final fight scene, on the verge of victory, the Hood loses control of his mystical cape to Dormammu—the demon who gives it its power. Purple Man is killed in the ensuing melee, and Wing regains her mind in time to steal an unconscious Moonstone’s gem and use it against Dormammu, killing herself in the process.
Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) arrives at the Heroes for Hire offices the next day to offer the three surviving members a place in the Avengers. Cage and Iron Fist accept, but Misty decides to continue running Heroes for Hire.
